One of the casinos offered to fly us to Sofi for the Rams - 49'ers game, but we didn't go had something else we were doing this morning.

At least when Benny owned Binion's Horseshoe downtown, there were no max limits posted on their table games, and it was understood that you could bet any amount as long as it was your first bet. I recall this up until about 2004.

I saw Benny Binion a couple of times in his Casino in the mid1980s. Wikipedia describes him as a career criminal. During prohibition he shot and killed a Rum Runner in Texas and then he moved to Nevada and got into the gaming business. In those days they would give a license to anybody.

Casinos were built on these kind of people. They get frustrated and impatient because they have no idea what they're doing so they just start throwing money around like idiots. The fascinating thing is they don't act like this in any other part of their lives, only when they get inside a casino. Learning self control, or better yet already having self control, it's one of the biggest assets you can have in a casino. Knowing when to quit, knowing when to walk away, is almost as good as knowing how to win.

Definitely true. And it has as much to do with math as emotion. When people like that lose control and are down a significant sum, they try to win it all back at once, basically trying to win more and more with less and less in front of them. Typically, the risk of ruin gets them. The other problem I see is that the times that they do make it back to even, they stop with no net win. But the times that they don't make it all the way back to even, they lose it all, such that many sessions where they did make it back to 0 don't make up for even just 1 where they lost everything.
Consistency in play is definitely key.

The issue that sometimes after a big win, the very next session you're lulled into not caring if you lose some and might keep playing deeper into the hole.
Still, that's better than betting small when winning, and big when losing!

I don't think you could pay me enough money to see U2 in 2023. This sounds like an awful waste of time and I love U2. Someone did post the show within the Dome and the visuals look amazing.

The last U2 concert I went to before these new ones in the Sphere was in the early 2000s. I think I liked most of their songs up until then and if they have newer ones since then I might not be a fan of those.

I am currently planning a trip to McMinnville Oregon to go to the Evergreen Aviation Museum. https://www.evergreenmuseum.org/

If it is, you'll have to suspend 90% of the people in the How Much Gamble to you have multiple times over.
I never complain about a justified suspension. This wouldn't be a justifiable suspension.

Got tickets for the Canelo fight last night but ended up selling them right outside the event. Second time I've done that actually. Probably got under value but almost two grand for two tickets seemed like the thing to do. 😅
The fight, from what we watched later on the screen, seemed like more of a grind than anything else.

Pretty solid and consistent there were some very good sections which I hit well but it was not a very long session so I didn't make as much as I could have.
