This is among other changes aimed at making the property more reasonably priced.
Other changes at Wynn/Encore include complimentary bottled water in guest rooms, complimentary self-parking for all hotel guests, domestic beer and sodas sold at standard, non-premium hotel prices (including hotel room minibars), and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi capable of video calls and file downloads.
These changes aren't necessarily minor. We generally don't touch the mini bar on general principles of not giving in to that sort of extorted outrageous prices, but I have seen mini bar charges of pushing $500. for my guests where they are unaware that even a soda might cost $15., a miniature liquor bottle, almost $25.
In general, if you want to know who is staying in a comp'ed room, look at the mini bar charges. The high roller won't even touch it, but his guests, especially the younger ones, will!

Sir Paul.

And again. Caused quite a stir.

Nice run. Take away the K and I’m on the same run you are!
Are you going to the Race this year? The buzz about it seems to be missing…..
We’ve arrived in October or earlier and stayed through Christmas before not sure if will this year.
At F1 the paddocks are where it’s at last year was at one of them also have viewed from the T Mobile Grandstands. In either case it’s just about a few seconds of screaming cars racing by then nothing much until the next passing. More interesting (to us) than NASCAR races but not die hard racing fans and don’t appreciate the traffic and street reroutes before and after the race.
Watching F1 in a movie like Grand Prix (1966) was in some ways more entertaining (to me) than the actual race but it’s still cool to be here during it and experience the event.
Four card 6 , 6 instant tie. 30,000 on the tie.
I was at a private table but in a public area.
The pit went wild.
Second largest tie I’ve ever hit. You can’t buy that feeling even if all it did was get me slightly ahead. Stopped then and there - ahead. Coming up from way behind to even slightly ahead like that in one shot is nice.
Another one for the books.

Yes, this doesn't make much difference over time, but over time isn't what matters if you place an over $200K bet on Bank and win with a three card 6. Especially if that $200K win was calculated to win, which it did, but also needed to get back to even. That sort of thing may lead to tilty further bets for some. Not MDawg, but it did lead to walking down about a cool -$100K.

I had no luck trying to scrap my fake Rolexes. Super fakes are very hard to spot. Even Rolex experts have been fooled by good fakes.Quote: GenoDRPhWith gold and precious metal prices the way they are, are any watches in your collection you'd consider scrapping for the gold and the movement, since they're worth more than when you bought them?

Quote: MDawgThere is misinformation about this.
No genuine Rolexes are made in China.
Fake Rolexes are made in different places, including in China. And anyone who knows anything much about these watches, knows that the counterfeits, even the best of them, are demonstrably different from the real thing, including in looks, movement, metallurgy and weight.
The misinformation that Rolexes or some of their parts are made in China, or their assembly occurs in China, is put out there by the counterfeiters themselves, or conspiracy theorists.
If you watch this video all the way through, you'll understand how special fine timepieces are compared to counterfeits.

Fakes fool fakers easily. Genuine people, not so much.

It is interesting to note that with gold this high many of my watches are now worth more for scrap gold (or platinum) alone than I paid for them (I don't pay MSRP, I get deals from dealers I know), but not worth more as scrap than their current value.
Also the movement inside the watch adds weight and is at most partial precious metal, such as say the 18K rotor on an automatic Cartier, so it's not like you may just throw the watch on a scale and assume that all of its weight is precious metal.
In that video I posted a while back of me weighing just some of my watches, to show the relative weight of Rolexes,

I noted that a non-Rolex, 18K rose gold Breitling of mine weighs 243g.

which if solid would be worth about $25K, but the watch itself even pre-owned is still today worth more than that (original retail - which I did not pay - was about $80K).
Weight isn't everything. In that same video I noted this one of a kind watch:

which weighs only 74g (18K gold), but was worth (at the time I made the video) more than all of the other watches I displayed, combined. Just for example too, the other day when I dined with Wizard, he asked to see the watch I was wearing that day, a grand complications Patek, which he recognized is worth well over > $100K, but its 18K gold value would be a mere fraction of that.
Also I have four digit vintage Rolex Daytonas that are worth six figures, but made of stainless steel.
Over all results recently were: about $720,000. in winning sessions, then two losers one for -$100K described above, another for a not edifying -$300K. I suppose the over all up about $320K could be viewed as one trip, although "I don't remember the date. The devil knows what month it was."

Dumped $125K at one casino. Went to another, dumped another $125K.
Third casino, was up +125K, then started firing $125K a hand in a bad sequence ended up losing about -$110K, to end the day down over -$350K.
This is similar to that other bad day when I lost $-300K except that was at just one casino.
I have had some wins over the week so this puts me still up about a hundred K for the trip.

In general, a single blowout at one casino seems to lead (for me) to more blowouts at other casinos 2/3 of the time, and it's better (for me) to just leave a single blowout alone and resume another time. Discipline is key, and the willingness to bet big on less sure hands is not a good thing.
So it all came down to just one hand, pretty much.

What has changed is that some of the high limit rooms have full bars inside them now, and for example at Resorts World Vegas, inside the Crockford's high limit is a bar and dining area where you may order a full meal with butler service, and get it comp'ed whether you are staying in the hotel or not.
The new style for high limit salons is to have a full bar somewhere in or near them. The food service (not just a little buffet like they have at Wynn or used to have at Bellagio) inside the salon itself is something new too, although at Wynn you have always been able to order most everything and charge it to the room while in their food service area next to high limit table games.
Then finished off the session with a $110K win Player where I got the 9 I knew was coming and a face card.
Occasionally the pit comments on "your biggest hands seem to be on Player?" which actually isn't always true but knowing what the first card coming out is has the most benefit when I know it's an 8 or 9, there is a clump with lots of face cards coming, and I then bet on Player. But there are occasions where Bank is favored heavily too, from knowing what has come what is left what might be in the coming clump, and that first card is not going to be a high card.

A clean -$250K losing session.
A pretty easy +$180K win.

Seems like your wins (and losses!) are much larger than just a year or two ago. Is that correct? Are you getting more ‘advantage’ opportunities? Or just were getting bored with the lower amounts? Or something else?
The boatloads you are making in the stock market trivialize the lower amounts you were betting?

"That" sure looks like a duplicate account to me.
Nuke.
And the ramp up in general wasn’t intentional just got caught up in betting more.
But yes the reason I increased the bets dramatically recently is because I’ve been able to cull those advantage hands.
The other one, I did everything right just the expected cards landed as expected but just somehow the other side got better.

But one thing at the end of today's video had me questioning. He met someone in the hallway as he was leaving and said the stranger had texted to meet him and was hoping to get a payoff for his losing streak. So the player handed him two $5K chips. Neither of them knew if the cage would cash it, so one of his buddies would accompany the stranger to the cage. Is that allowed, especially on camera? It's not a tip to a tipped worker. It won't trigger a CTR as long as the stranger has no other cage transactions that day whatsoever in the casino. But is it a gift subject to gift tax, or is it not taxable because it's under $19K and no one cares?
Someone with a player card or willing to present ID, still if holding 5000 chips not tracked as belonging to him, would probably try to break them down before cashing them. But even then if an unknown player shows up at the tables with 5000 chips the pit will not break them down or even allow them into action.
When you read stories about people who managed to cash 5000 chips without winning them it is going to be someone who is known to the casino for that level of action and who identifies himself. Such a player might get away with playing with or cashing some big chips he didn’t win or receive himself.
The cage is not going to cash a 5000 chip for an unknown anonymous presenter.
Cashing for cash two 5000 chips at same time or within 24 hours of each other would result in a CTR. This is because neither chip could be cashed without identifying yourself.
Now think about 25000 or 100000 chips and it is virtually impossible to cash them or even use them in play without being a known player to whom those chips have been tracked.
I’ve gone into some level of detail because I know exactly how all this works but even more detail would be needed to explain all nuances of what may and may not be done.
