If no royal
Then
Play quarter poker up to $1000
If no royal
Etc., etc.,
It’s not doubling. Has someone already given it a name?
Quote: ChumpChangeIt's called throwing your money away 40,000 hands at a time.
... "accruing ADT".
Quote: billryanAt the Emerald Island, you can play VP for anywhere from one cent to $25 a hand. Ive seen people start at the penny and go up one cent per hand until a win and then start over. If you are a heavy drinker, the game can be worth $20 an hour.
Heh. One of my neighbors would grab someone's empty glass, sit down at a machine, and catch the waitress going by and ask for "another" drink. He might put money in the machine but not play.
Quote: ThatDonGuyBy "up to $200," do you mean $200 coin-in (i.e. 800 hands, assuming you're playing 5 nickels/hand), or until you lose the whole $200?
I was thinking until $200 is lost.
It's the good old, "I'm due for a royal" theoryQuote: rxwinePlaying nickel poker up to $200

There were some AP's back in the day, when you could find all kinds of +EV denominations up to $100 denomination like 9/6 with cashback on the card who would take shots scaling up when they had been on a royal drought in-between plays. They were playing with a small advantage, but way above their bankroll. I know a few people that hit royals on the higher denominations quickly and did very very well, but it's rare to hear about the guys who went broke trying its sort of thing.

I suppose you could call it a form of Martingaling, although keep in mind, some of us are still waiting for that first Royal.
Quote: ChumpChangeMaybe go to the next denomination up when you're down 10,000 coins on the one you're at.
It doesn't matter what you do or call it, -EV is -EV is... EV, It's best to stop looking for, or coming up with ways to trick -EV games.
If it's for entertainment and u know that, that's fine, but there is no good reason to categorize it or come up with a fancy name for it.

I think I may have to disagree with the last phrase. It’s like the list of logic fallacies that you can find reference to. It informs. Some things have names already. Some things may still need names.
I’m gonna try to invent a term right now.
“Tapping or knocking” when a gambler taps or knocks on a video screen to cause a favorable outcome.

I just snicker everytime that I see someone doing that.

Just one of the numerous entertainments offered.
But then what guy hasn't?

That’s just a variant of Singer’s system that takes longer to ramp up the betting. Another difference is it didn’t necessarily have to be a Royal in Singer’s system, which was just win goal based.
