You can always take down the don’t.Quote: dontpassI recently played at a casino that allows you to take down your bets that are made from Dont Pass and Dont Come rolls. Is this abnormal or common is some areas? Does anyone have a strategy for this type of play?

Dont Pass and Dont Come bets can be taken down anytime.
As far as strategy goes ... never take down your Dont bets. Once a point has been established, you are a favorite to win.

What if you’re running late, and you need to pick up your wife at the airport?
common - the rules of the game state this.Quote: dontpassI recently played at a casino that allows you to take down your bets that are made from Dont Pass and Dont Come rolls. Is this abnormal or common is some areas?
since the Don't Pass was created in the early 1900s, (DC also) one can always take it down and never put it back up.
reason is the bet NOW has the advantage of winning and the house would love for more don't pass bets to be taken down (as well as the DC bets. very common for DC players to say "No action on the DC (no) 6" or "No action on the DC 8")
never yourself remove a don't bet that now has a point to it.Quote: dontpassDoes anyone have a strategy for this type of play?
you can ask a player you see trying to take down the bet to actually buy the bet from that player.
I find it very profitable buying DC6 and DC8s that a player does not want.
some casinos frown on this type of play so be careful to ruffle the fewest number of feathers.
very good question
the concept to remember is that at ALL times the most likely number to be rolled is Seven. So once the Don't Pass bet has survived that initial roll of the dice, it is now a favored bet and of course the casino has no objection to your removing a bet that is in your favor and against them.Quote: dontpassThanks for that. The Wizard doesnt allow that in his trainer. Just wandering?
Why would the casino object tour giving up an advantage, however slight it might be?
That is why calling "no action" is foolish, even if the Don't Bet is about to travel to an outside number rather than a more popular 6 or 8.
WAIT!Quote: FinsRuleWhat if you’re running late, and you need to pick up your wife at the airport?
since you are already running late
what do you think casino limousines are for?Quote: FinsRuleWhat if you’re running late, and you need to pick up your wife at the airport?

Yes.Quote: dontpassI recently played at a casino that allows you to take down your bets that are made from Dont Pass and Dont Come rolls. Is this abnormal or common is some areas? Does anyone have a strategy for this type of play?
If the point is 4/10 then fair value is 1.33 x original bet. That figure is 1.20 and 1.09 for 5/9 & 6/8 respectively. It’s profitable to buy for any lower price.
So say the point is 6 and somebody next to you is about to take down their $100 don’t pass bet since they know it’s a horrible bet. Offer him full $100 for his bet anyway and you just turned $100 into $109 (expected value). Better yet offer $80 for a 36% profit.
Is it the same reason the casino allows you to increase your pass line bet but not decrease it?
As actually said to me at the craps table when I was in a similar (parents, not wife) situation: "They know about Uber, right?"Quote: FinsRuleWhat if you’re running late, and you need to pick up your wife at the airport?
Take it down immediately.Quote: FinsRuleWhat if you’re running late, and you need to pick up your wife at the airport?
Use it to score some hookers and blow.
