Similar expansion related economic disputes appear to be taking place in nearly Colorado Springs.
Its a zoning battle in which the opponents are other casinos and its similar to the Reservation Trust land deals that some Indian tribes want to obtain geographically desirable casino locations and find that their only opponents are other Indian tribes that already have geographically desirable casino locations.
Towns such as California's Solvang go thru the same thing as it has a Historical Scandinavian Appearance District yet some land owners want to have gas stations and the like that do not conform to this faux "Ye Olde Swedish Inn" façade.
Anything special like 100x odds, 1000x odds, true odds promo bets of any sort?
My understanding of the Colorado gambling situation is that they are all Sweat The Money joints that cater to locals. If the standard games are at Not A Bargain rules and Not A Bargain odds, then a steady supply of innovative games is just about all they can offer.
As someone joked recently about the Sports Gambling Decision: "A failed casino in every state". In Colorado its people being milked for all they've got even if you have to hold music and film festivals to get them in the door.
The two most famous and publicly known were the Casino Barona Mississippi Stud game and the Jack Binion single deck BJ.
The moment CZR bought Horseshoe, this was the first game they pulled.
I’m not sure if the Barona Mississippi Stud game still exists.
Coming to Cripple Creek from the south, the internet suggested I went via Rte 67 (Phanton Canyon Rd) from Rte 50, but it eventually becomes unsurfaced. Luckily it was hire car and very scenic, but next time I might go the other way in!
Quote: WizardI'm planning to go to Cripple Creek in late June and will provide a report upon my return. Any members in the Colorado Springs area interested in meeting up?
It's a few hours away from me, but I'd love to meet up.
Beware the fine print in the rental agreement. Often unpaved or non maintained roads means your insurance waiver is void so towing and repairs will be at your expense. Or at least that is what their lawyers will allege.Quote: charliepatrick. Luckily it was hire car

Any report on this yet?

I'm sorry, I haven't put down anything in words yet.
Briefly, Cripple Creek is an eccentric little gambling town. Very rustic. All the casinos are little and seem to be struggling to keep the doors open. I'll briefly say my favorite casino is the Brass Ass. After playing blackjack for about 15 minutes the dealer complimented me on my good play. I thanked him for the compliment and asked him his favorite website on gambling. He answered correctly.
I was there for only about six hours and don't know that my report will be all that great. To be honest, all the properties seemed more or less the same. Yup, as I write this the details are coming back to me. I should put my comments in writing before I forget.
Well, you did give your word but the main thing I'm interested in about Cripple Creek is how a two dollar craps table with 50x odds there compares to a ten dollar table with 100x odds at the Cromwell. The 100x odds at the Cromwell would mainly be a fantasy for me except perhaps when I had consumed too much Guinness, but 50x odds at a two dollar table would be a reality for me for at least a portion of my bankroll.Quote: WizardI should put my comments in writing before I forget.
Better yet, don't go at all. Teach them a lesson for not warning you of this at the door with a sign.

I didn't bother to note the odds allowed there. A decade ago I made a big deal over 10x odds and above. However, so few people play craps like me -- betting the don't pass and don't come with max odds.
Don't get me wrong, you should max out the odds, if you're comfortable with the risk, but also play where the service is good and you have a good time. I'd rather have good service and a good time at a 3-4-5x table than a lousy one at 100x.
I think we all say that but I'd rather just win lots of money and that means maxing the odds even though I ain't even comfortable with my line bet, much less the odds bet.Quote: Wizard, you should max out the odds, if you're comfortable with the risk, but also play where the service is good and you have a good time. Do you play craps? Is that two dollar line bet but up to fifty dollars odds bet table still in existence?Quote: LeBouchleonAgreed. If any of you are ever back towards cripple Creek, let me know. That's the closest casino to me and have played there a few times.
any advice as to which casino in cripple creek with live BJ (most seem to be $10 min and 3-2 which makes it affordable for low rollers spreading bets $10-2 hands of $150 or so. but where should i play if i want free hotel if things go sour at the table? who gives comps out more generously? wildwood? century? brass ass? elsewhere?
i would like to meet up with a local who is good at blackjack. also id like to know which places will let u play and who will ban u and if they do, i hope its BJ only, for there is only 1 poker room here.
also be curious to know if u can get a decent mailer anywhere for signing up and putting a lot of play thru a machine?
