Here’s an update for anyone who is thinking of visiting New Mexico and wants to play craps.

I was in the area and tried calling the casinos to verify that the promotion was still ongoing, but couldn’t get an answer, so I decided to drive there. I was in Santa Fe for a ski vacation.

Sandia Resort and Casino still has their free buy 4 and 10 promotion, with a minimum of $20 and a max of $1000. If the bet is less than $20, then its a place bet. Table limits are $5-$1000, with 5x odds.

Santa Ana Star has the same promotion, but with a $100 cap on the free buy 4 and 10.

These casinos are fun and the staff are professional and friendly. The only downside is that no alcohol is allowed on the floor, and the house is not allowed to comp alcohol, per state law.

Best craps game in the US is in Albuquerque, NM.

Always happy for updates even for the Land of DisEnchantment.

What is so great about Albuquerque and is that the place at super high altitude?

The alcohol thing is weird here. They have bars overlooking the casino floor, but you can't leave the bar with a drink to go into the casino. Security will stop you if you try.

The reason for the ban, for those not familiar with gambling in NM, is that the restaurant and bar lobby was afraid that the casinos would cripple their business. It is strange to be gambling and not having a drink. I very much enjoy a Kettle One martini with three olives in a rocks glass while playing craps.

It’s not just that there can not be alchohol on the gambling floor, but that the house may not comp any alcohol. I had a $200 steak and lobster dinner comped, but there was a $14 charge for a glass of wine.

I really enjoy the casinos in Lousianna and New Mexico. Friendly people, great dealers and staff, and awesome gambling bargains.

Vegas is just a cash grab nowadays.

If someone can tell me how to post pics from IMGUR to here, I’ll write up a more detailed trip report with pics. I’m not sure what qualifies as high altitude, but its not like Denver.

Visited Sandia last year, did not play. Why best craps, surely not just for free 4/10 buy? Odds? 3X on 12 in field? Buy the 5/9 with vig on win? Full pay ATS? I think you need to go to Mississippi! Or Tahoe for better skiing, literally, two blocks away from the craps table, Heavenly.

how much comps if you just play the free buy 4 and 10 for $100 each all day?
and press 50% starting on the 3rd hit?

I’ll admit that NM doesn’t have the best skiing. That is true.

But sure, it’s for just the 4 and 10, although I understand ‘best’ is highly subjective.

They’ll tolerate you if all you do is play 4 and 10, effectively flipping a coin all day, with six ways to win, six ways to lose. They don’t even require a come bet, although if you want to roll, you need a $5 come bet.

Betting just the 4 and 10 may sound boring, but with a high enough bet, it gets exciting.

Where else in the US can you play a craps game with a 0% HE?

Also, the Sandia isn’t a sawdust joint. It’s actually a very nice Native American casino.

Granted, the no alcohol policy does blow.

Probably about as much as the Booze Comp! Zilch. Besides you will probably tip the dealers and you will probably eat a lunch and dinner so it really won't cost them much.

Behave like a problem gambler that just won $100,000+ in the California lottery, take some photos of color-printouts of winning lottery tickets with your identifyable features in it, and offer to "show off" your winning ticket, and report back. Create a fake account on this site and post for a couple of months and verbalize your identifying with that account to the dealers. On your WOV fake account you make up crap about how much BR you have, and lure the house into thinking you have more money than you do.

Not all scams are illegal sir. Come up with one, execute, and keep your mouth shut if you be as good as your talk on the forum. Requires unknown identity (this get defeated as soon as it begins working and word gets out what you did if/win you win enough to matter to that house or any bigger house listening to talk from smaller house's staff).

I love that I can still walk up to many craps tables and have people say, "hey aaron I haven't seen you in a long time."

Doesn't help in this situation. You almost need at least one fake persona (not legal id, just who you "pretend" that you are in public).
