Was pretty surprised to find what was inside besides the bluray collection

Quote: Jmarch79Sweet. Just may have to buy one from Amazon. I'll watch 11 and 13 and use 12 as a drink coaster.
Yea 12 was disappointing
Unfortunately for me I had a position on the crew of only 12 so gotta watch it. Like seeing my name in the credits

I can't believe someone beat me to saying that!

They are all on Netflix now
Ok, I thought it was just me. I loved 11; I couldn't watch 12 for more than 20 minutes before I had to turn it off, and gave up on the franchise. Sounds like I should give 13 a chance?Quote: Jmarch79Sweet. Just may have to buy one from Amazon. I'll watch 11 and 13 and use 12 as a drink coaster.

12 had problems
Number one is no casino. Without casino action its no different than any other caper film. Part 3 returns to a casino movie
I worked in editorial so i can tell you the film was plagued
Bernie Mac became ill early in production whicb facilitated script changes putting his character in prison for most of the film
Julia Roberts was pregnant and a decision was made tp capitalize on that by rushing the film out in just six months so she could be actually big-bellied while her character impersonates her with a pregnancy prosthetic- ot backfired when she went into labor prematurely before the films release
I saw several different versions with scenes beinf rearranged. You know there is a problem when reel 7 suddenly becomes reel 2 of the film (no not an exaggeration- the story wasnt working - they created that film in editorial)
EDIT: and quick disclaimer - no I was not the editor so dont blame me for the film. I was a technician only. No creative input
Quote: VenthusDoes skipping 12 and moving to 13 directly work out okay for the most part?
Absolutely, you miss nothing with the story.

For the most part
If you want i can pm you with a quick overview of 12

There's a character that's briefly in 13 that is set up in 12, but it's not terribly crucial to the overall story arc. If I were you just read the Wiki synopsis of 12 and watch 13.
Quote: gamerfreakAnyone know who they consulted for the casino gaming details in 13?
IMDB lists Ricky Jay and a guy named Michael Weber as consultants. No idea if they were consultants for gaming stuff or the grifting/con artist stuff. Or both.

Hehe... Do the dice come with the lighter that makes them flip over?

I was going to walk out on 12 it was so bad but figured get thru it so as not to be tempted later. I watched 13 because it was a Vegas and casino movie.
13 is more on the comedy and unbelievable side than 12, with more 60s of a look in parts. But 13 works, it is a pleasant diversion. Julia is not missed.
Quote: BozLove watching these older Vegas movies and seeing how things have changed. One of the final scenes in 13 in outside O’Sheas in the old alley between it and Flamingo where the Linq is now.
Just stick with the original Rat Pack version.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll save you the time and hassle and just look it up myself. It sounds like that it's so bad that there's no point in trying to avoid spoilers on it since I wouldn't want to watch it to begin with.

Is she ever? I can't think of a single
movie since the 90's that she was
good in. She'll be 51 this year,
long past the expiration date for
anything but the mom of grown
kids, or some middle age crisis
movie for menapausal actresses.
Meryl Streep she's not.
Added later: I did enjoy Eat Pray Love.
But not because of JR. It was all
shot on location, and the other actors
carried her lackluster performance.
And the book was great, which influenced
my opinion of the movie.

I was never a huge fan. I never disliked her acting, but she was never a actress I would go out of my way to see.

I'll be 70 next year, not really wondering
a whole lot.

Two superstars in one movie! If you
want to take your life after this clip,
I advise against seeing the movie.

I don't think it's that bad. Watch it once, just for the jokes and a couple of things that matter somewhat to 13. Just don't expect to love it.

Look, they're all silly dopey movies. They
were made as a lark, the cast had one
long party on all of them. They're tongue
in cheek caper adventures, and have
to be viewed that way. Figuring out
which are better is like breaking down
Three Stooges movies and examining
them. Just suspend your disbelief and
watch.

I saw Oceans 12 when it first came out while visiting Sun City casino -- I was supremely disappointed - the film felt disjointed and hastily put together

Sure you can compare them. Which did you enjoy most? Compared to 13, the heist in 11 was almost believable. Kind of like comparing professional wrestling of the early 1980s vs late 1980s. Neither was real, but before about 1984 they at least acted as if it was.

When they started to say how Tess looked like Julia Roberts was when I was ready to leave. Just got to the point of "get to the end so I can go home."
