Hey guys!
I'm trying to figure out how many possible different bets there are in South African Roulette. We use the French rules (single zero; neighbor bets allowed and "racetrack" bets available on the table.
I'm trying to list every possible bet in Excel, so far I have:
37 x Straight bets
55 x Split bets (1-2; 2-3; 1-4; 2-5; 3-6)
23 x Corners (including 0,1,2,3)
11 x Streets (EDIT: I meant to say 6-line here...)
12 x Streets*
6 x Outside Bets
6 x Dozen/Column Bets
37 x (number and neighbor bets)
1 x Series 5/8 Bet
1 x Orphans Bet
1 x Series 0/2/3 Bet
1 x "0 Game" bet
37 x "To the Maximum" Bets
This gives a total of 216 possible different "ways" to possibly bet.
Curious if I'm accurate here or if I've missed anything? :)

I counted the 0,1,2,3 bet as a corner because technically it isn't a 6-line... The payout would be the same as the other corners if I'm not mistaken...

I think OnceDear is saying to count 1,2,3 as one of the 12 streets.
As a matter of fact, when I do play roullette for one chip I like to play the 1,2,3 street, because winning can be as easy as one, two, three, lol.

I'm not sure what all the bets are by your labels, but some seem to be missing. And others (perhaps) are duplicated, but I don't know what the racetrack is used for, either.
It would be easier to understand (for me) if we listed them by the ways a particular number could be grouped, in ascending order. Ie
1 number
37 ways
2 numbers - see Edit 2 below
not going to tackle these yet because I don't know what you're counting
3 numbers *
12 streets (straight across starting with 1)
2 baskets (0,1,2 and 0,2,3)
4 numbers
not going there yet on corners
1 neighbor street that includes 0
5 numbers
none
6 numbers *
11 ways to bet 2 neighboring streets
12 numbers
3 hi-mid-low
3 columns
18 numbers
6 Hi lo , odd even, red black
24 numbers? does anyone allow straddle of 12 numbers in each of 2 columns or ranks? I'm guessing not, but who knows what's played worldwide.
etc
* = my count appears to differ from yours.
Edit: I'm using this layout as a guideline on the game you're trying to calculate
Edit 2: I'm seeing 58 ways to bet 2, but I'm including 0-1, 0-2, and 0-3. If those are not allowed, I agree with your 55 total.

If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

How does one place a "number and neighbor" bet? Is that on the racetrack? Also, what is a "to the max" bet.

These terms are new to me, too. Regarding "to the max," here's a quotation from http://www.rouletteonline.net/roulette-bets/announced-bets-and-call-bets/:
"In Europe, some casinos allow a $1,000 max wager on a straight-up bet, so a player asking for 32 to the maximum could receive a full complete wager on every possible inside bet that involved 32. This would include a total of 12 wagers: $1000 straight up on 32; $2,000 on the splits of 32/19, 32/31, 32/33, 32/35; $3,000 on 31, 32, and 33 street; $4,000 on four corner bets, $6,000 on two six-line bets. The wager total would then be $40,000. A marker is placed on the full complete to the maximum number, in this case 32, to signify the wager."

The racetrack allows you to bet on a number as well as the 2 numbers to the left and 2 numbers to the right of that number on the wheel.
Usually they require that the bet be evenly divisible by 5. So if I put $100 on zero, it’s really $20 straight up on 3, 26, 0, 32, and 15
The only place I’ve seen the racetrack on the betting layout was Sands in Bethlehem PA, and only on their single zero wheel (which has now been removed)
