Late night raid on Birmingham casino by six masked robbers featured extremely large sword, electrically operated chain saw and gratuitous attacks on gamblers. Management employee ended the violence by stepping forward and saying 'take what you want'.

NOTE: Birmingham in the UK. Working class, industrialized area.

Reporting Agency is West Midlands police.

"The men, whose faces were covered with balaclavas, burst into" on first pass, I misread balacalava as baklava.

Baklava is a Greek pastry (unless you are in Turkey, then it is a Turkish pastry)
Balaclavas are what we would call a full-faced woolen ski mask.
In Northern Ireland it is "newspaper-speak" for the IRA but elsewhere in the UK it simply means a common manner for crooks to go from normal appearance to a disguised appearance to evade security cameras.

Oh yeah, I knew that, thus it leading to incredibly odd initial imagery. Baklava is great, even if it's really bad baklava.

Interesting.
I read that so called 'news' item and I'm ashamed by the dreadful grammar and spelling.
I'm almost ashamed at the quality of our criminals, too.
The robbers were incredibly stupid and will be caught soon. Stealing chips. lol. Lucky for them we don't use CCTV surveillance in UK casinos. ( We do, of course )
It wouldn't surprise me if the robbers didn't smash the computer monitor to destroy the CCTV evidence.
Psalm 25:16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Proverbs 18:2 A fool finds no satisfaction in trying to understand, for he would rather express his own opinion.
