From todays NY Post
The city’s gamble on casinos is paying off.
Resorts World Casino in Queens has crossed the $2 billion mark in revenue generated for New York’s lottery education fund. Since opening its doors near the Aqueduct Raceway in 2011, the casino has contributed $2,079,037,190 to New York public schools.
Officials said the money is enough to hire 37,000 new teachers in New York City, supply students across the state with more than 27 million textbooks or buy 142 million “total experience” tickets for Bronx Zoo school field trips.
“We are proud to play a role in generating the vital resources that provide students across the state a high-quality education,” said Scott Molina, President of Resorts World Casino New York City.

My question would be, how much of the pre-2011 education funding is still in effect or being budgeted for?
We had a somewhat similar situation in Florida. The lottery was to provide 40% of proceeds to education. The part they left out, was that the legislature and governor then felt free to cut other funding streams and reprogram education money to other purposes. Very dishonest shell game they're playing.
They act like it's additional funding, ON TPP of responsible earmarks for education, in the ads. Then it becomes a wash, and regressive. Made me permanently mad when I found out that's what really happens. Hope it's not happening in NY.

If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

I wish I had an answer to that. Some politicians say this is extra money over what the state gives, others say the states money isn't growing as it would without this 2 billion.
The schools don't seem two billion dollars better.
