For anyone near Fresno, California, Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino is reopening on the 30th. It was closed down for 15 months by the feds for tribal infighting and a violent raid. Now, for all you amateur card counters out there who want some practice, this is the perfect situation because the Surveillance and Table Games Departments are really weak. Most of the veterans have moved on to other jobs already. In fact, the Surveillance Department hasn't even finished hiring yet, and they sure aren't trained. I think only two guys know basic strategy by heart, and I doubt any of them can count yet.
When they first opened in 2003 they got hit hard by a card marking group, and were hit again by a roulette scam in 2012. All those vets who dealt with that are long gone. I'm going up there to try my chances. Slots, on the other hand, I've heard they have been tightened. So don't expect much of a payout. And because they've been closed so long, don't expect much from their Player's Club.
Good luck out there.
