Hi Everyone - next month my wife and I are going with another couple to Atlantic City for the night, and staying at the Borgata. I have a comped room, from my recent play in MGM properties in Las Vegas, as well as (I assume) using the Bet MGM app for sports betting here in New York. From doing some research, The Borgata has most of the games I will play 3 to 2 Blackjack, Pai Gow Poker, Craps, 3 Card Poker, and 9/6 JoB Video Poker. The one game I see they don't have is Ultimate Texas Hold'em. However, I do see that Harrah's nearby has a $10 UTH game. My plan is to try and convince my wife to head to Harrah's before we go to to the Borgata to play a little Ultimate Texas Hold'em there. I have never played before for real money, but have read the Wizard's guidance on his strategy in both his book and website, as well as been practicing heavily on his free game. I am very excited to play for real! My question is, usually be a table minimum better on all table games (craps I'll bet pass line minimum, and typically take maximum odds), is there any other game at Harrah's that is better in terms of table minimums/rules over Borgata? Or should I play Ultimate Texas Hold'em for an hour and then head on over to Borgata to continue my gambling. Thanks everyone!

Does your wife gamble? Do both of your friends gamble? Are you just recreational gamblers who expect to lose but hope to get lucky and win? Are the wives doing spa stuff? Are the 4 of you planning on drinking in excess? Is this a rare casino trip or one you hope to repeat frequently? How long a drive to get there?

Without knowing anything about you, your wife, or friends, I’d recommend checking in to Borgata. Get the feel of the group. And go from there.

Welcome to the forum. Please report back after your trip!

If it is your first time in AC, and you are traveling more than an hour or two, check in first.

I am the most "experienced" gambler of the four of us. My friend will play Blackjack though and the women will play slots,. The other couple are meeting us later in the day down there, hence why I figured I would check out Harrah's first, before spending the rest of the time at Borgata. We definitely will take advantage of the complimentaty drinks, and will have a cocktail or two at dinner. Thank you!

Driving down from Long Island. So with traffic, and probably stopping once along the way, figure ~4 hour drive. Looking forward to it. Thank you!

Haven't been to Borgata in Years, but I can tell you they have a HUGE gaming floor and it's very likely UTH is there.

Harrahs has really condensed their gaming floor to one or two areas(depending on which day of the week you visit).

They cram all the Blackjack tables together in the middle and the carnival games are usually towards the end of the tables. It may not be the best idea to go there if you are looking to play UTH.

Hard Rock has the MOST new table games and definitely has UTH on the main floor. You might wanna check them out for Gaming and better restaurants!

I know Caesars and Tropicana have UTH, but it's usually only One table that may be full if you're going down on a weekend. Good Luck!

Nope. No UTH at Borgata. Instead go to Ocean, Harrah’s, or Hard Rock (if you want to stay to the Bay side, and upper Boardwalk). We usually go over to Ocean, but Hard Rock is fun, too. Heck, Harrah’s is nice, as well. Last I was at Caesar’s, UTH was actually hand dealt. Probably not any more. Borgata has probably 20 BJ tables, if not more, not counting the high limit room. $10 tables fill up fast. Last week at Hard Rock it was $10 UTH in the afternoon, $15 at night.

Download the MGM app, verify your identity, link your reservation, and check in when you take a bathroom break at the Farley Plaza on the AC Expressway. Then you can print your key in the lobby, skipping the line. [edit] I missed that you are coming from NY. You can check in the night before, if you want to.[/edit]

If you valet park, you can keep your receipt and valet park anywhere else in AC that has valet, one time. Then the return to Borgata is free as well. No valet parking at Harrah’s or Golden Nugget, at least last year.

Borgata has 100-1 on a mini Royal at 3CP, pretty sure Harrah’s is 50-1. Borgata has Criss Cross, Harrah’s has High Card Flush. Ocean and Hard Rock have all those, plus Mississippi, 4CP, Crazy4CP, etc. Borgata has Flip Flop. Everyone has Spanish 21 and LiR.

Best slots at Borgata (aside from accumulators) are the $5 WoF in the island near check-in. They’re the old style, two 2 coin max play with a single SPIN, and two 5 coin with SPIN/SPIN/SPIN five ways. The wheel reflects the bet; one of the 5 coin is a Pink Diamond, which pays back 2 coins on SPIN/SPIN/BLANK, SPIN/BLANK/SPIN, etc. I don’t have the exact numbers on these, but SPIN comes up pretty often, usually within 30 spins. [edit] Back when you used to be able to get AC payouts online, these were over 95% payback.[/edit]

Borgata buffet is the best buffet in AC, but nothing like Wynn or Bellagio. It’s a good buffet, though, especially for breakfast. Caesar’s is probably second. One of our favorite restaurants is Old Homestead (expensive steakhouse) at Borgata. It’s not the best steakhouse ever, but it’s the one we like the best, if that makes sense. People rave about White House Subs, in Hard Rock; eh. It’s okay. They’re good subs, but not the best ever. Il Mulano at Hard Rock is excellent. We haven’t been to the highly rated Italian place (can’t think of the name) at Resorts in probably 20 years, but people love it.

Play what you like. For me, I like Criss Cross as much as I like UTH. Criss Cross isn’t as good EoR at UTH, but at 1.48% it isn’t bad, and the 5 Card Bonus bet is 3.53%, much better than 3CP’s PP at 7.5%ish. Skip the wheel spin bet.

If you like uth, precovid both ocean and GN has the rare 974 Trips bet for .9% HE.

Incidentally, what would be the HE if Trips was even better at 965?
Craps is paradise (Pair of dice). Lets hear it for the SpeedCount Mathletes :)

Awesome thank you. I thought they only had Texas Hold’em Bonus. So $10 minimum on ante and $10 minimum on blind, correct?
