Ok Boz made me decide to switch gears here.
Sorry for prior thread rants.
Anyway I thought I would mention a few non- casino bars and resturaunts I frequent that offer the traveler a good bang for the buck.

Located just off the boardwalk a crossed the lot from The Irish Pub.
Cheap beer, average food. At times the crowd can get a little raucous, kind of a locals place.
Service has always been prompt. Bar is 24 hour not certain about kitchen.

The Irish Pub is one of those must visit places for beer drinkers. Beers are reasonable food is cheap and so,so IMHO. You visit this place for the history and ambiance
Old newspaper are glued to the ceiling stained and hardly legible from decades of cigarette smoke.
It is a fun place to visit and read the old signs and look at the old pictures. 24 hour bar, not certain about kitchen. Decent mix of people.

Ah the Ducktown Tavern. This place is near the top of my list Cheap beer and the food is very good and not very expensive The only downside is the location. Kind of questionable if I would recommend walking there at night alone To there credit though they have free parking. I think the back bar "they have two bars" has a pool table. Will check it out next time.
When I have visited place wasn't crowded and service was good.

Tony's Baltimore Grill is an institution much like The Irish Pub.
I have enjoyed every meal at this place. Their Pizza is a thin crispy crust. Many rave about the sausage topping.
I also had a meatball sub that was very good. "They are known for their pizza and meatballs." I had a turkey club that was very good too. Bar gets a good mixed crowd. They also have a dining room. Tony's has a small free parking lot. It is right behind Tropicana so it is an easy walk.
More to come later, feel free to comment and make your favorites known. But in keeping with the spirit of the thread let's keep it cheap but good eats and beers.
