Whenever we go, we always have one meal at Old Homestead. We've eaten at most other restaurants there, but never at Bobby Flay's. And we've heard good things. But we usually only go for a day or two, and don't want to have two huge expensive steakhouse meals in two days, figuring that there's also a buffet breakfast or two in there somewhere.

Would we be just as well off at Bobby Flay's? Or should we stick to the tried and true Old Homestead?

if you are Black Label, I'd say the steak in the Amphora Lounge is better than at either steakhouse!

The only time I've tried Old Homestead was in LV at Caesars - worst steakhouse meal I've ever had - the meat was sub-par and fatty

The Old Homestead at Borgata is excellent, though. We eat at a lot of steakhouses, and we like that one, a lot. Not Black Label, Frogger. I would have liked to have tried that.

I have been to Old Homestead. If a hunk of under-seasoned meat is your thing, that's your place. I'd try Bobby Flay before I ever went back to Old Homestead.

I have eaten at Old Homstead a number of times, it is excellent. Try to sit on 2nd level.

The only Bobby Flay restaurant I have ever eaten at is the one in Caesars. Definately was underwhelmed and never been back.
Be careful when you follow the masses, the M is sometimes silent.

My GF loves going to all the top name chef restaurants. As if he's back there running the show. Gordon Ramsey's british restaurant at Caesars Palace is crap IMO.
Even free it's no real bargain.

Gordon Ramsay Steak @ Paris is next I think, but I don't have high expectationsl.

If your wife likes the Celebrity Chef places, particularly the ones that have been on TV quite a bit, I have been to a few that I would highly recommend. Delmonico in the Venetian is flat out awesome, which is and Emeril joint, Carnevino in the Palazza which is a Mario Batali place is sublime. We ordered the 40 oz Porterhouse to share, which they carve tableside is quite frankly one of the better steaks I have ever eaten. Emeril's Fish House at MGM is good but not quite as good as the other two

Best steak I've ever eaten was the 40 oz. porterhouse at Ruth's Chris in Harrah's Cherokee.

I am always getting the 40 oz. porterhouse now if it is an option and there are at least two people who want to share it.

We've had pretty spotty experiences at Ruth's Chrises around the country. A couple have been decent, but most have been average, with snooty service. The good ones have been NYC and Chicago, all the rest have had the "big city restaurant in a small town" attitude, with no justification based on the offerings. The worst was the one next to Caesar's in AC.

Ruth's Chris is known for pouring on the butter on top of the meat, if you like that sort of thing.

That's my feeling with Ruth's Chris as well. I live in the Chicago area and have been to the one in Northbrook, and while good, wasn't on par with some of the other localized places in town like Gibson's or Hugo's or Pete Miller's. As a rule of thumb, if I am going to a great steak house, I try to avoid anything that has a national chain like Morton's, Ruth Chris, Smith & Wollensky etc.
