The exciting and interesting 2023 Major League Baseball playoffs are finally here and in full swing following an MLB regular season full of surprises. The 2023 MLB postseason will be our 2nd - look at the big - league's new 12 - team format, which includes an additional wild - card spot in both the American League and National League. The fun began with a jam - packed MLB playoff wild card schedule which ultimately featured 8 - teams competing in 4 - wild - card games that were displayed on ESPN last week.

The 2023 American League playoff picture saw a shake - up on the last day of the 2023 MLB regular season, as the Texas Rangers fell from atop the American League West to the number 5 seed. The 6th - seeded Toronto Blue Jays traveled to face the American League Central champion Minnesota Twins, and the Texas Rangers visited the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild - card round.

The winner between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Minnesota Twins series was the Twins and now Minnesota will have to take on the reigning World Series champion Houston Astros in the ALDS, and the Texas Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays so the Texas Rangers had to face off against the 1 - seeded Baltimore Orioles who they surprisingly beat as well putting the Texas Rangers in the ALCS for the first time in quite a while.

In the National League, the Arizona Diamondbacks traveled to Milwaukee and easily defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, putting the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLDS with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Finally, the Philadelphia Phillies hosted the Miami Marlins who made their first MLB playoff appearance in a full 162 - game regular season since they won the World Series back in 2003. The winner of that series was the Philadelphia Phillies who now have the tough task of going after the National League top - seeded Atlanta Braves who many people have picked to get to another MLB World Series this year.

From the first pitch of the 2023 Major League Baseball wild - card games to the last out of the World Series, I have got you covered with the postseason scores, schedules, results, analysis, and predictions including how to watch every 2023 MLB postseason game this October and into early November of this year.

Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins

Astros lead Series 2 - 1

Game 1: Astros 6, Twins 4

Game 5*: Twins at Astros, 4:07 p. m. ET on Friday, October 13, 2023 (FS1)

*if necessary

I completely believe that the Houston Astros will win this series against the Minnesota Twins and they will most likely make it back to the World Series this season in my opinion as that team is loaded with so many superstar veteran big - leaguers.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers

Rangers Win Series 3 - 0

Game 1: Rangers 3, Orioles 2

Game 2: Rangers 11, Orioles 8

Game 3: Rangers 7, Orioles 1

National League Division Series

Best - of - Five Series

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Diamondbacks lead Series 2 - 0

Game 1: Diamondbacks 11, Dodgers 2

Game 2: Diamondbacks 4, Dodgers 2

Game 3: Dodgers at Diamondbacks, 9:07 p. m. ET on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 (TBS)

Game 4*: Dodgers at Diamondbacks, 9:07 p. m. ET on Thursday, October 12, 2023 (TBS)

Game 5*: Diamondbacks at Dodgers, 9:20 p. m. ET on Saturday, October 14, 2023 (TBS)

*if necessary

I have a feeling that the Arizona Diamondbacks will continue their Cinderella - season and defeat the Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers who both often struggle in the MLB postseason over the past decade or so.

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Series tied 1 - 1

Game 1: Phillies 3, Braves 0

Game 2: Braves 5, Phillies 4

Game 3: Braves at Phillies, 5:07 p. m. ET on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 (TBS)

Game 4: Braves at Phillies, 6:07 p. m. ET on Thursday, October 12, 2023 (TBS)

Game 5*: Phillies at Braves, 6:07 p. m. ET on Saturday, October 14, 2023 (TBS)

*if necessary

The Philadelphia Phillies had the Atlanta Braves right where they wanted them up until the end of Game - 2 in which the Atlanta Braves hit a couple of huge home runs in order to win that game and climb back to even in this highly - contested NLDS. I still think that the Philadelphia Phillies have a very good chance of beating the Atlanta Braves to move on to NLCS as long as they can continue to produce runs early on in games over the next several days.
