Online play always seems like everything happens way too much. I think the issue is the speed of the game. In a Casino you get around 30 hands per hour in. Bad/crazy stuff only happens once in a while (if you're lucky). In online play you can get up to 65 on a regular 9 player table and 95 on a fast play table. That's 2 or 3 times the bad/crazy stuff per hour that you would normally see in live play.
if you have paired cards, it does slightly increase the odds of other players also having paired cards. But I suspect that Zcore is right and the main culprit is the speed of play online.
