Blackjack Surrender

I was just at The Las Vegas Hilton and they were not allowing surrender at any of the tables. The Wizard's Blackjack Survey indicates that they allow surrender at the Hilton however the dealers all said they have never allowed it. Who is right?

Are you aware that there is no such thing as bj surrender? If they meant early surrender the dealers are possibly right. If they meant

late surrender, as well, then I would be confident they are wrong.

Not just you, but most questioners on here are very ambiguous, and I usually just ignore them. I figure you meant late but I made the distinction to be fair to the dealer answer.

DM, thanks for your response. BJ surrender was merely the title of my post. I simply asked the dealers if surrender was allowed and I was told no.

No, I understand, but if early surrender was never allowed (likely) he would have answered truthfully even if late surrender is CURRENTLY offered.

I have a buddy that is still there. I told him to ask if "late" surrender is allowed. I'll let you know the answer.

I believe Wiz updated those fairly recently.

I've surrendered in the high limit room lots of times when they still stood on a soft 17. The Current Blackjack Newsletter also indicates they allow surrender on some tables. I expect to go there within a week and will verify what is going there.

I'd be curious to hear what you find out. My buddy asked several dealers if they allow late surrender and he was told no. He then asked the same question with the pit boss and was again told no.

You took my somewhat smart ass comment in very good style. The comment about nebulous questions was really not about you.

In the future I will try to assist you whenever I can. You seem like a good guy so we need you on here. I have to also say that what

one dealer tells you might be exactly contradicted by another.
