Leaving tonight for Sin City

After my September trip with a bunch of coworkers, an older coworker expressed regret that he could not make it, so I offered to go with him for his first trip to Vegas in 10 years (his wife goes several times a year alone to play 1/2 no limit). Arrangements were made soon after and we're finally leaving tonight after work. He is not a gamer but was still able to get a deal at MSS (Wednesday nights are free when you stay two nights on either side of it, total 91 bucks for three nights after tax) and I'm comped there.

Looking forward to:
The Bourbon Barrel Aged Winter Warmer just made available at 777 for a limited time
9/6 JoB at the quarter level to earn my continued mailers from MSS, still looking for my first royal, not a bad play with Sapphire level 2X points (I always use for food instead of cash back or freeplay there) and the Score with Four ongoing promotion
Signing my coworker up at all the downtown casinos using coupons from the ACG, hoping to get him some cash from the freeplay/match play offers and getting some useless branded junk
Michael Jackson The Immortal (he's a huge Beatles fan, but Love is dark when we're there)
Haven't been to the Bellagio conservatory since 2007, want to see it decked out for the holiday season
BJ at Gold Spike, 0.65 edge there but only 3 dollar limit, comped draught Guinness (which along with the dealers there is enough to make up for the higher house edge than the El Co game, better ventilation too)
Craps at MSS and Golden Gate

I might give the FP Pick 'em at Fremont a try, seems very low edge and low volatility with the correct strategy.

Nice. I'm doing a similar trip this month; friend who hasn't been to Vegas in years will be along. We will do the whole coupon thing. Also trying to learn 10/7 DB which the MSS has to add to my repertoire. Better return than 9/6 JOB, but more variance.

Comped draught Guinness? I'm there!

I hope they still have the Bourbon Barrel Aged Winter Warmer when I'm there in 3+ weeks so I can try some! I'm in a similar situation because my brother hasn't been back since 1992.

Good Luck.

I guess Comped Guinness would be a draw for me too despite misgiving about patronizing a Siegel owned joint. After all, I also patronize Evil Empire owned casinos.

Just had the Belgian Quad at 777 brewpub. Probably one of the best beers I've ever had. Be warned, it packs quite a kick (11% ABV by volume).

I'm at McCarron on the way out, never seen the place so dead. MJ The Immortal was awesome, and there were lots of hotties in the crowd to gaze at as well. The Belgian Quad was indeed awesome, but the Belgian IPA that sometimes goes on their VIPA tap is still my favorite ever from there. I hope you have better VP luck than I did.

Just booked trip for downtown, April 17th-20th

There isn't a really good 'Who is coming to town' section of the forum (that I saw after a quick glance through the sections, anyways) so I thought I'd just announce it here in case anyone cares (a bet I would surely lay odds on). Staying at Main Street Station because I love bartop JoB, Craps and most importantly, the famous 777 Pub microbrews! I hope they have some good seasonals when I'm there, but I love the Marker Pale and Black Chip Porter as well.

Wife and I will be getting to The El C on the 15th. A walking tour of Rex Bell and Clara Bows ranch outside of Searchlight is the main catalyst for the trip.
