All are superb, and all are members of this forum, with Mike being the administrator "Wizard".
Know that they all cost for professional work done.
Also know that side bets for BJ are a rough way to make money in gaming, as there are 40 some odd BJ side bets.
Actually, all new game design is a rough way to make money in gaming. see: from a game idea to the casino floor
You do see a few tables that are BJ only.
Quote: PaigowdanWon't happen. Casino operators like side bets, and enough players play them.
I've seen players at TCP betting only the pair+, without putting any money on the ante and play bets. Of course the casinos would love this, since they're not even hedging a bad bet <roll eyes> Can you do the same at other games?

I would like to remove myself from consideration, as I just don't have the time right now. There are others I recommend on my Gaming Math page, linked above.
Quote: NicksGamingStuffHere is my BJ side bet idea: Ultimate Insurance-- it is a side bet played every hand and pays 10:1 if dealer has a BJ regardless of which card is up. They could also play regular insurance as well for the Ace up.
They have that at the Cal Neva in Reno. Except they pay 17-1 for a dealer BJ, and you can bet on a player BJ too.
Quote: tat2tsI am develping a side bet for blackjack. Is there a mathmatician you would reccomend to work up the stats and odds?
Bonus Blackjack:
This is a simple pair of side bets that the player and/or dealer will get a blackjack. The player may bet on a player blackjack, dealer blackjack, or both. If the player bets both and the player gets a blackjack composed of an ace and jack of spades then the player will win a progressive bonus.
Analysis of some popular blackjack side bets including Super Sevens, Streak, Royal Match, and Blackjack-Block®.
How about this: Super 8: If the players first two cards total eight or less (excluding soft) it pays 8x!
Quote: NicksGamingStuffI thought Cal Neva's side bet was top of the deck blackjack, where if the first hand was a bj for the player it paid something and if both the dealer and player had it it paid something.

I sound a bit like the Blackjack Side-Bet Shortie.
What exactly is a Shortie? When your first 2 cards score 9 or lower (Ace=1), you have a shortie. For example, if your first 2 cards are [2,7], [A,A] or [A,8], you have a Shortie; [3,8], [5,5] and [a,9] are not.
If you have made the Shortie side bet before the game starts and you have a shortie, you will win a bonus right away. There is more. After you have won the first Shortie payout, this side bet is added to your original Blackjack bet and you could win again.
Yes, I played Shortie at WinnaVegas, Iowa. It's been there for a long long time.Quote: MrCasinoGamesI sound a bit like the Blackjack Side-Bet Shortie.

Quote: NicksGamingStuffThis even confirms my idea that everything has already been thought of! I guess side bet designer is not in my future!
Here is my Blackjack Side-Bet: Blackjack-Block® or Block.
The Block bet is based on the player's first two cards and the dealer's up card. As of this writing (Nov. 2011) it can be found in South Africa, Egypt, Latvia, Estonia, Ireland, and Morocco. The bet wins if the dealer's up card matches the suit of one of the player's cards, and the player's card is higher. There are higher pays if the player's cards are a pair, suited, or both.
