,,,Once he studied all the sides of an actual cube? And never actually moving any of the sides, or doing paper calculations.

Can anyone?

A simpler challenge, six discs in a box. You can look that one up. It's a puzzle.

I doubt Einstein could. That wasn't his gifting. However, I have seen YouTube videos of people examining a cube carefully, then putting on a blindfold and solving it.

Could a blindfolded person solve a cube they hadn't studied in advance?

That can be done if you preset the cube. Was it verified that the cube wasn't preset?

Actually, to be impressive you memorize the scramble initially making it look random by doing it fast. Then you just repeat backwards.

Yes, some magic tricks are based on letting the audience member scramble a cube and then the magician switches it to one he preset and then solves it blindfolded.

However, there are lots of YouTube videos are people doing in a competitive format. I doubt they are all faked.

I was surprised that the world record is that long - how much different could it be from how someone can solve a cube with sight in under five seconds? - until I noticed that the clock is running while he looks at it.
