Can you quote me specific players edge #'s with the posed question and give me other possible scenarios? Thank you, Mr.Hand1982
Quote: mrhand1982What are the players advantages in THREE CARD POKER if they can see one of the dealers cards and they play the Q-6-4 strategy to a tee? Someone told me that it is very much worth playing and unlike blackjack, one doesn't have to deviate in anything, whether that be bet raise/reduction or occasionally playing your hand stupid be deviating from basic or true count strategies.

I've never played this game, but if you don't change you're strategy, I can't imagine that knowing one of the dealer's cards would help you at all. Information is only valuable if you use it to improve your decisions.
Quote: WizardMy book, Gambling 102, provides the answer to that question. With correct strategy, which my book states, the player advantage is about 2.41%. Sorry I don't spell it out here, but there has to be something in my book that you can't get for free.
I double checked my sources on this ...
The edge is 2.41% when you can resolve the hole-card into one of the three types: 2-10, JQK, or A. The player edge is 3.48% with full hole-card information on every hand.

You're right. Thanks for the correction.
Quote: elscrabindaDoes this rely on player or dealer subterfuge, or are there occasions when you legitimately know the dealers card?
It can happen either way. Most often, the dealer does not commit a felony, and it's just plain sloppy dealing that gives the card away. For a while there were no precautions against exposing this card, nobody even knew about the issue so no one protected against it. We used to sit 6 around the table, signalling each other the card quite brazenly. About 2005 it tightened up considerably as Shuffle Master, Inc., and Griffin Detective Agency both sent out alerts about this problem. I spoke to a Director of Table Games just recently who had never heard of the problem, so opportunities still exist. My suggestion is to check it out at every casino you visit.
