For the past five months I have played NSUD video poker a total of 75838 hands
during play I received one royal flush and only seven sets of four deuce hands,
my bankroll is down by $2306 , my question is, are these results within expectations
or should I assume the machine is rigged and run for the exit!

What's the paytable?

Where did you play? If it was a land based US casino that was not a Native American casino, I'd say it was a legit machine. If it was a US Native American casino, you could have been playing a Class II machine which may have probabilities different than what you would expect from a deck of cards, and hence "rigged" in a sense.

If you were playing online, pretty much anything goes.

One royal in 75000 hands is not that far out from normal If my memory is correct you should get four deuces 1.8 times for every 10,000 hands so your deuces result seems to be low but not alarmingly..
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I was playing in a vegas casino , 25cent level, paytable for a 5 coin bet is 5 10 15 20 20 50 80 125 1000
Appears to me I only got half the expected four deuce hands, my question wasnt clear, I am wondering
how much deviation from expected return would signal that something other than bad luck is affecting
the payouts.

Your results are consistent with random variations in a fair game and your monetary results are consistent with the fact that you are, "Running badly," on the indicated hands. If you had another Royal (which would technically put you slightly better than expectation on Royals) and were running as expected on Deuces, then you would be ahead overall.
