If the AI guesses correctly, it deducts $1. If the guess is incorrect, it awards you $1.05.
The game, of course, is impossible to beat without help from an outside randomizer.
However, I just did 500 decisions using physical dice and the AI still got 270 correct guesses. The chances of the AI doing this well randomly are only 4 percent. So either my dice rolling is flawed or perhaps the AI is cheating?
Quote:The game, of course, is impossible to beat without help from an outside randomizer.
Not really, if you understand how random
works. I did 50 and got 54% correct. I play
roulette and can think more randomly
than it can. Could be just dumb luck.
Lets see how lucky others are.
Quote: sodawaterBob, that isn't bad, but 50 flips aren't enough. Without using outside help, it will probably beat you as you get up to 100-200 flips.
Why. It's too much work, I have to
think about every selection, it takes
too long. It took me over 10 min to
do 50.

I was ahead after 350 flips, then decidedly down after 500. Years ago I played a paper, rocks, scissor game that was similar. Let me find the link.

Also, that was the only one I did.
I posted it 15 min after you started
the thread, and about 12 min after
I started the test. If I do any more
I'll be accused of cherry picking the
lucky ones. I've been down this
road before.

Nice, yes, similar concept.
Quote: RSAnyone wanna bet I can't get 100% after 50 spins? :}
The first 50 are going to be the most
accurate of your ability. It starts to
learn your patterns and play against
you after that, and there's no way
you could beat it. It's a rigged game.

I bet I can beat 75%. Ez.
I didn't do 40 of them and pick
the one that wins. You can see
I had 3 winning streaks. It expects
you to switch around a lot, it
doesn't anticipate you'll stick
to a certain pattern at first.
At 30 I was at 70% but it started
to catch on and by 50 I was at
56%.

So how did you do then. Much better
than me apparently. Lets see the results.
I figured out a strategy I think beats it without outside help. Make one choice, then take a break to surf somewhere else on the internet. Then make two choices. Then take a break. Make three choices and take a break. Etc up to 10 choices. Then do the same thing from 10 down to 1. That's 110 selections and I was able to beat it twice in a row. First time only $0.45. Second time for $6.85 (winning 52%) by alternating which hand I used to press keys and trying really hard think randomly

It's the opposite of roulette. There you
have to figure out where the wheel
will stop next. In this game, you have
to guess what it thinks your next
move will be and choose the opposite.
And if you play too long you'll never
beat it. I just do 50 and refresh the page.
Quote: EvenBobIn this game, you have to guess what it thinks your next move will be and choose the opposite.
That is not the only way to win. Making random selections will beat the game. Non-random selections will almost always eventually lose.

Making random selections would beat it indefinitely

25 wrong guesses by the bot should be the result.
I can get 100% for N spins, but the algorithm I'm using is N^2 complexity.
I am not sure why it is the least bit interesting beyond figuring out an optimal strategy.

wow, nice. definitely this AI is exploitable like this.

I dunno. I tried some R/L results from an
actual roulette wheel, as random as you
can get, and the thing beat it every time.
I'll try some from random.org

In my original post, I noted that I rolled real dice 500 times and the bot guessed 270/500, which is a 4% outcome in a fair game.
In theory, it would be impossible for the bot to beat truly random flips, unless it cheated.
I didnt even click the link (was there a link?)Quote: EvenBobSo how did you do then. Much better

How much money will I make playing this game? If the answer in none, no thank you. I will stick to trying to figure out how to beat casinos out of real money. I can play chess or do any other number of things for entertainment.
