I deposited some money on Boss Media and noticed a 5 card draw variation that I haven't seen b4. Players seem really bad even tho I know little about the game. The rules are pretty much the same as the standard 5 card draw (you get dealt a 5 card hand, there is a betting round, then a draw, then again a betting round), except that there are no cards 2-6 (only 789TJQKA), and a flush ranks between quads and a full house. If there are five players playing (apparently not at the stakes I'm thinking of playing), sixes are added into the deck. Can someone work out the probability of various starting hands?
fwiw from the few hundred hands of the game I've played I can tell you that a dealt no pair seems about as probable as dealt trips, and you usually get some kind of straight or flush draw to go with it. Also people seem to be happy limping and calling raises w/ hands like TTxxx and drawing three and then hitting trips and running into bigger trips or a straight. Also, completing the SB in a family pot to draw to something like AJT97 seems to be a waste of time since you only get sufficient action when you're outdrawn, while flush draws gain value at deepstacked games even tho you're only drawing to 4 (5) outs, as flushes are virtually unbeatable, while I've seen quite a few FH vs bigger FH situations
