I was playing Video Poker and on the deal got JJJ3J for the Four of a Kind. On the next hand, on the deal I got JJ3JJ. What are the odds of being dealt consecutive hands like that? I've gotten back to back Four of a Kinds before, but never on the deal and never having identical hands.

If the 3 is the same suit it's 1 in 2,598,960. If different it's 1 in 649,740.

Thanks for the reply. I understand how you arrived at the answer, I should have thought of that.

On the negative side, the chance of being dealt back to back royals of the same suit was the same.

On the positive side, the chance of being dealt back to back 23s4h89c was the same.

Yesterday at pai gow I had consecutive hands where I had a straight with a queen and 3 in the low hand. The straights were different, but it was remarkable enough to notice.
