I work as a new manager in a small Casino. I need to know if the gamblers must bet their match play chip in the (ANTE) or they can bet the match play chip in the (PLAY) too. I think it must be placed in the (ANTE) because the gambler have not seen the flop, but if you put the match play after see the floop or after see the turn or river you have more chances to put the match play chip in a winner bet. Please if someone can explain me "WHERE & WHY" in a basic way, I will be very thanksfull. If you are not really sure please do not answer. Sorry about my english, because is preatty basic. Thank you so much!!!

They can play the chip in the ante, play, or blind.

A match play and a free play are two different things. If it's a match play it has to be accompanied by another bet of the same amount in the same betting location. For this reason, it should not be allowed to be used alone in the play section if it's only being used as a 1x bet.

A match play coupon should never be without a matching amount of chips in the betting circle.

It should be played in either the Ante or Play, because those both always pay 1-1 and you don't pay odds on FP/MP. Next, they should be able to play it in either spot. If you play it in the play, then you could see the flop, but you'll only ever play it once. If you play it in the Ante and the dealer doesn't qualify, you get to play your coupon again and again until you lose / the dealer qualifies. I think my record for playing FP coupons in the Ante spot is 6 times in a row.

Not only that, your Play bet already has a positive expectation when you play "good hands" or hit a "good flop". The HE comes from the Ante/Blind, not the play bet.

Let them play it in either the Ante or the Play bet...

Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Blind doesn't always pay 1-to-1. Up to 500-to-1 for a Royal Flush, right? But, you finally sorted it out correctly.

In my experience, gamblers can play match-play or free-play bets EITHER on the Ante or the Play, but not both in the same hand.

I meant the "play" bet as indicated at the bottom of my post... my mistake.
