It's something i've been pondering lately. I play "basic strategy", online with 8 decks wich means 32 Aces. Naturally those cards are in my favor due to the the BJ's, double down's and the odd split so could some kind of tactic be made out of this and if so then at what point? Should i use it as strictly stay/leave type of thing or start influencing other aspects aswell (for example doubling down on 10 becomes slightly less feasible with less Aces.)?

Or is the whole idea just completly pointless?

Most online casinos shuffle after every hand, so counting aces won't help much. It would help a little if you depth charged a single-deck multi-player game. Otherwise, if you play at live casinos, I wouldn't reinvent the wheel but buy a simple book on card counting.

Not without merit. Just there's more to it than that. Google 'Back counting' 'Wonging in' and 'Wonging out'
Online with 8 decks, and often with 50% penetration does not lend itself to this.

They have this plastic trey where the dealer takes the cards from and then about halfway through the cutting card shows up. After that they get new decks and fill the whole trey again.

Sounds like the online place I use. Evolution gaming, maybe 888 or one of the popular UK/European ones.
The 50% cuttoff means that these games are not practically countable, not even back counting. The HE might just about get cancelled out in 10 or so hands a day. And backcounting waiting for that is V painful.
However, some of these places can give you an advantage. PM me the name of the casino, to see if it's one that I use.
