At my local casino, if you hit natural quad sevens on video poker at certain times of day, a slot attendant will pay you out a bonus equal to what the machine pays you out (i.e. quad sevens pay double). They offer 99.64% Bonus Deluxe, where any four of a kind pays 400 for 5 bet.

I approximated the value of this promotion by taking the four of a kind returns from

and adding a thirteenth of it back into the full return, giving me 1.45% for the value of the promotion and 101.09% for the play, not including return for player's club card.

Am I thinking about this right? Are my conclusions sound?
I believe I should not be changing how I play, is this correct?

That is basically correct, including your figures, which are only slightly off due to rounding.

You can analyze the game in any video poker calculator by choosing Aces and Eights as the base game, because it has a separate payline for Four Sevens. Just use the same payouts for regular Four of a Kind and Four Aces or Eights. The results are as follows:

If you do not adjust your strategy for the bonus, the return is 101.0473%
If you do adjust your strategy for the bonus, the return is 101.059%

So, the promotion is worth 1.4056% if you don't adjust your strategy, and 1.4173% if you do.

JB beat me to it :^), but I did the same thing and got the same answer.

As for strategy adjustments, it looks like you would always draw to three sevens, even over keeping a dealt sevens full, because with perfect play, you end up with fewer full houses, and the same amount more trips and quads. Everything else is exactly the same.

It is correct that this is the only strategy adjustment. I ran the two strategies and compared them, and the only difference from regular 9/6 Bonus Deluxe is indeed preferring three sevens over a dealt full house.
