Dear Wizard,

this is my exit hand of today's main event EPT tournament in Malta. I am still shocked about it, though there was nothing left for me to do than to accept that I had gone out against 2 juggernauts that only come along once every 5 million hands.

I am dealt: Ah 9h

(6 out of 9 players fold)

flop comes: Kh 5h 3h giving me the nut flush

Player 1 pushes all-in
Player 2 folds
I call

Player 1 shows Kc Ks
Player 2 shows (folded cards) 5c 5d

Turn comes 5s (would have given Player 2 a Four of a kind)
River comes Kd giving Player 1 Four of a kind over Four of a kind over nut flush

I know the probabilities of 2 Four of a kinds in the same hand are roughly 1 in 5 million.

But how does this look against the nut flush as well ?

What are the odds of this happening pre-flop, pre-turn, pre-river ? (my best guess is pre-river 1 in 52 and pre-turn 1 in 2.500)

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Omadon

Interesting, really ugly hand. You seem to have had position, and were ahead of any pocket pairs or smaller flushes, so I think you were right to go all-in after the flop. I do note that you were beat at the turn with K's over 5's, and the river K was icing on your crap cake. I'm kind of surprised the folded hand was shown, but I guess you were both all-in at that point and it was just informational. But, yeah, I would think that was a most rare hand, with occurrence in the one-in-a-billions or worse for all 3 hands to show up.

The kind of thing they would show start-to-finish on any highlight reel if they were filming.

Sorry, I'm not competent enough at the math to give you a definitive answer. But I suspect someone might run the numbers for you; we have many very good math guys here.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Sick hand at the 2015 WSOP main event on last weeks episode. Hands starts at 10:15. The key hands get folded.

Unless no one picked up on this is either call fiction or scream bloody murder - if player one pushes all in and player two folds how did he show pocket 5s - he folded face up in a major tournament with one player left to act on am all in?
No longer hiring, don’t ask because I won’t hire you either

...the player next to the dealer turned his cards over and we saw the pocket 5s. As he had been the last player to fold he had seen where the dealer had put the cards.

I have no reason to ask fantasy questions on a poker forum, there is better things for me to do. I hope you guys realize that. If you don't believe me, I can give you all the names of the people involved in the hand during the tournament.

I am just interested to know the probablity of this hand and if I will ever encounter it again.... if four of a kind over four of a kind is 1 in 5 million, the nut flush would make it 30 or 40 million ? That is my best guess .... maybe someone can give me the number....

Okay, okay. Do you want any 4OaK over any other, or that specific hand?
