...since my solutions are not appreciated elsewhere:

There is a new sidebet in town. If you can make a 21 with your hand by adding, subtracting, dividing or multiplying your card's numbers (any order), you win. Aces count as 1.

I have an Ace, a deuce, a 5 and a 7. (turns out to be trivial...)

EDIT: I have an Ace, a 5, a 6 and a 7.

The dealer refuses to pay me - convince them otherwise!

Where are the hookers, you may ask?

Enjoy!

Really, nobody? Bueller?

Tough crowd, I guess mere arithmetics are below the average WoVegian. I am gonna have to come up with something stochastic then...

Does stochastic mean related to hookers?

You are thinking of "Stochastic Calculus Porn" - but it is not what you think.

"But the economics profession for the past thirty years instead focused on producing stochastic calculus porn to satisfy young men's urge for mathematical masturbation."

This topic would be more suitable for the "liberal" vs. "conservative" crowd though, who are, ironically, baited into my other thread at the moment.

I used to play this game as a kid, but it was trying to get 24 instead of 21.

I look at the bottom of my 6 to make it a 9. (9-5-1)*7

Just use a base 8 system. 5+6+7-1

Since I didn't sepcify base10, you win. But it is possible in base10 as well!

(For lack of a base 8 joke:

There are 10 kinds of people:

Those that understand binary.

Those that don't.

And those that didn't expect this joke to be in base 3.

The only cheating was in the original post when I failed to use the correct digits. Tried everything ... was about to send a hooker to his room and then I see the solution involves a Deuce that wasn't in the problem set since it had been lined out.

Looking at a six to make it a nine?

Did you know that on a craps layout the Place Numbers are all in Numerals except the Six and Nine which are in letters. If any newbie ever comments on this the craps dealer is required to reply "Oh, never noticed that". And the box and dealers often do look at things the wrong way.... what do you think that shiny mirror that runs the length of the table shows?

I've decided to go practice some addition and subtraction so as to finally do this advanced math stuff right. Any one have a teenage girl who knows how to cook and owns a pack of flashcards? (Guinness drinker a plus).
