Hi Guys/Girls

Can somebody tell me what the probability is of the same number coming in on 4 roulette wheels at the same time? This is on a french wheel with single zero.

This is no doubt an easy question for somebody out there and if it has already been asked my apologies as i didnt spot it on here.

Cheers for any responses.
Rob

Probability of 4 same numbers is 1/37^3 = 0.0019742% or 1:50652

How did you convert 0.0019742 to 1:50652. Does this mean its a 1 in 50652 chance? Im still trying to get my head around conversion

1/.000019742

Don't forget to tack on the two extra decimals since the original value was presented as a decimal of a percent.

Yes, it means that the same number appearing 4x in a row, or on 4x different units at the same time, or on any 4 given spins, is about 1:50000.

First spin: Irrelevant.
Second spin: 1/37 to succeed.
Third spin: Contingent on 2nd succeeding, 1/37 (so 1/37*1/37)
Fourth spin: Contingent on 3rd succeeding, 1/37 (so 1/37*1/37*1/37)

Actually no. Roulette is a by far simpler game than soccer. Thy dynamics of roulette is quite simple: Every number has the same probability to come up, and every spin is independent from any other spin. That is all one needs to know about roulette to calculate the exact probabilities of any event.

Soccer or any other sport game is much different. The exact dynamics are not known, and even if it were, they would most surely depent on a lot of variables.
