It isn't that I don't know rooms are really cheap at some places some times, it is more the bragging ability if I pull it off. So, any ideas on any promotions? Using a Harrah's or other card is not an option due to lack of places to play here.

How big of a bettor are you? You could definitely score a room if you walked into a downtown place like Fitz's, Four Queens, or El Cortez (_not_ the Boyd properties; emphasis on El Cortez) and starting betting bigish. I would imagine at least $25/hand in BJ for four hours or heavy craps action with at least $50+ per hand.
---------------
My recommendation would be save yourself the trouble and book a $10-$20 room at a cheapish but nice place like Golden Gate or Terrible's (Terrible's is great) or Hooters, they enjoy yourself and don't worry about comps. But that's just my opinion.

Are you going to try and do food, too? My last trip I didn't pay a dime for food. And I am by no means a high roller.
Perhaps a better question is, are you an upper tier member in any casino's players club?
Some casinos will give you a free room based upon the tier level in other casino's clubs.

About 2 years after Borgata opened, my wife and I went there for the first time. The first thing we did was go to join the players club. There was a short line as well as a staff person acting like a hostess at the end of the line.
I decided to be a smart ass and made a comment "My wife is a Diamond in Harrah's Total Rewards". She lit up and started telling us all the stuff were were going to get by joining the Borgata's club, including a free night that we could use that very night if we wanted to, as well as $100 slot play, buffet comp, and automaticly joining at the Black Label level. And come here to the head of the line!
I'm glad I felt like being a smart ass!
FYI: Borgata's club has three levels: Red, Black, and I beleive Platinum. But all you ever see on the signage is Red and Black. Kinda tells ya that the average Joe doesn't need to know about the Platinum level.
A free room? Bet high enough and just about anyone will be likely to comp you when you leave, but a guarantee in advance is usually based on your past performance (and often linked in fine print to your actual action that trip). Sure you can leverage actual or claimed status at one casino to some benefits at another casino, but it will be based on your action that they see.
Some casinos are quite open about their comp system. Tuscany has really cheap rooms and a very predictable comp system. Calculate your intended action and you can be confident of what will happen.
I've found that most casino hosts will only indicate their general expectations they will never commit to anything in advance.
Good luck... and keep us informed as to how it goes.
Quote: teddysWhat you're describing is _very_ hard to do unless you have been there at least once. Silverton (and at one point Circus Circus...maybe still) has a promotion where if you sign up for their players card you can get a free night or two. But I'm sure there is a delay so you can't just show up and demand the room for that night.

I am not capitalized enough to bet really big thus the idea of scoring it before I go. Could you please elaborate on Terrible's? I have wondered anout that place.
Might try for free food as well, at least some. Or find the deals, though my favorite, surf and turf an Binions Coffee Shop is no more. Doing it for the sport of the thing, mostly.
Room: Terrible.
Buffet: Inedible.
Noise in hotel: Terrible.
Noise in casino: Terrible.
Security: Terrible
Signage: Terrible
A downtown spot or a slightly off-strip spot such as Tuscany with its firmly predictable comp policies would be a better experience.
After all, no matter what Terribles might promise, I would not trust them.
I disagree with you about Terrible's. Their location is good. Paradise and Flamingo within walking distance to the strip at Bally's, Ellis Island for cheap food, and Hard Rock for a fun time. Their rooms are good. Clean, and easy to walk to with flat screen TVs and a nice-ish pool. In-out access and parking is good. I've never had any problem with noise. They also have internet access in the fitness center. It is very easy to check in, and the hotel is small. They don't charge a resort fee. They just remodeled their slot club so that is very efficient now, and the slot club benefits are good with a good funbook as well. Their gambling is good. It's a fun place to get your gambling rocks off quickly but I wouldn't recommended extensively playing there. The buffet sucks -- agreed. The cafe is pretty good and they usually have good specials.
I was impressed by the fact that at Terribles miscellaneous drug store items were cheap. It was nice to find a 99cent toothbrush rather than the Venetian's 8.00 toothbrush, etc.
Perhaps the time of night makes a difference as to noise. I do remember a loud drunk at the craps table. Too loud. Too long. I also remember my companion felt insecure there and would not walk the hallways alone. Obviously the hallways would not trouble males.
As to free rooms there, I've no idea because I had an airport shuttle to make and someone had turned the sign with the arrow the wrong way round which cost me precious time when I was encumbered by luggage and drowsiness.
