In the old days, Vegas was famous for its bargains. These days, Vegas is famous for luxury: $300 rooms at The Cosmopolitan and $50 steaks at Sinatra in Wynn. Nevertheless, bargains can still be had: a junior Cabana suite at El Cortez with 42" flat screen TV, iPod dock, and refrigerator can be yours for less than $40 per night. The breakfast buffet at M Resort is one of the finest in town, and it's just $10.99. If that's too expensive, you can always have breakfast at Terribles for $5.99 (or $3.99 with players' card). Spirit Airlines has nonstop flights from the San Franciso Bay Area for $20 one-way.

Spirit is a joke. The flight may be that but they charge for everything! Luggage, carry on luggage, etc... If you really want to get the deal you have to come with nothing but the shirt on your back.

Many people leave that way ... or worse. Seriously, its a great price. Ship your luggage via FedEx (often cheaper), buy whatever you need when you arrive, etc. There are some people who buy their own coffee machine upon arriving in Vegas.Quote: NicksGamingStuffcome with nothing but the shirt on your back.
I'd prefer to travel light and travel cheap! Twenty dollar air fare sounds great, but the fees alone are usually more than that.

The reason I go to Vegas is because it is a cheap vacation. My whole trip can cost less the price of just a hotel anywhere else. For that reason I pick hotel as my answer, although "all of the above" apply.
Are there still cheap shows in Vegas?

If you go to the smaller less main stream shows off the strip. Some are quite good, see my reviews. I recommend Jan Rouven Magician, La Cage, and Mike Hammer.

My favorite is sadly gone. Cheap but not bad surf and turf at the legendary Binion's Coffee Shop. Off the menu but advertises in the casino.

Favorite bargain: Ellis Island Steak Dinner.
There's emptiness behind their eyes
There's dust in all their hearts
They just want to steal us all and take us all apart

I can't choose just one. Much of the appeal of LV is that almost everything is cheaper than most places. Yes, we all know the reason why, but even the gambling can be a good value for the disciplined.
