Las Vegas Marathon

I'll be making my second trip to Vegas in early December and have decided to run my first marathon while I'm there (I've previously run a half marathon and other races). Anyone else running the strip at night? I can't wait to get back to Vegas and hope that the 26.2 miles don't destroy the remaining couple of days I plan on living it up in town.

It's really hard running the strip at night since it's usually too crowded. Your best bet is dawn before the revelers are awake and foot traffic picks up again. Based on numerous business trips (and therefore, not sleeping in), that's when most of the runners seem to be out pounding the pavement.

Not if the strip is closed specially for the marathon... I don't envy any marathon runner... good luck!

I am planning on running the half marathon. Running the strip at night is going to be awesome. This will likely be the one and only half-marathon I ever run and it makes a fitting 21st trip to Vegas for me. You can bet that Mrs. Slyther and I will be getting massages at Canyon Ranch Spa the next day.
The longest distance I have gone in a race thus far is 10k. Thus far the longest I have gone in training is 7.5 miles. My goal time is 2:13:00
