Las Vegas - a place to cool off?

According to the National Weather Service, it is going to be 104 in Vegas on Friday (9/1).
However, where I live (in the San Francisco area, and along the water, no less), it is supposed to be 107.
Needless to say, Friday is going to be the perfect time for my power (and, as a result, my air conditioner) to go out.

107 in San Francisco doesn't make sense. Weather.com is showing a high of 83 for Saturday.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Fremont (inner bay) on the inner bay is showing 106 for the weekend.
That's bloody hot. Up in SMF land where I live it's supposed to be 107. I'm going to likely spend the day at Thunder Valley and let someone else pay my cooling bill.
