There is free WiFi on Fremont St. But...

The signal is nearly impossible to get inside a casino, even just a few feet inside, and not at all at most casino bars or restaurants.

I've found I can stand at the foot of the slotzilla zip line (it's not in operation yet) and use the tablet there. Or I can pay for a cup of coffee at Starbucks at GN, get a table on the patio outside and more calmly browse the web there. Or at any of the other streetfront bars with a patio.

alas, from Firefox mobile on Android, my posts here don't show up. Everything seems fine until I tap "post." I get the screen with the thread back, but my post won't be there. I can't send PMs either. Everything else I've tried, Outlook online, Gmail, facebook, Pinterest, works perfectly well.

I'd lke to hear from someone with a street side room and whether they could get a signal.

I've used that free Internet connection under the canopy on Freemont St. I've stayed at the D, Freemont and 4 Queens and could not get the signal in my room. Under the Freemont Canopy, strong free connection.
I used a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Tablet posting on this board while using the free connection under the canopy and had no problems at all.
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

I just bought the newest generation "iPod touch." It's the same as an iPhone, but without the phone capabilities. I got it for the apps and for quick web browsing and e-mail while on the road. I was very attracted by the price -- $143.50 bought online at auction. The only problem is you need wifi for it to work, but so many places have wifi now it's almost a given.

Plaza has free fast Wifi and a nice place to relax near check in. I'm not sure why People think the Plaza is scummy, Rooms are great with a cool modern retro look. Black and white Old Vegas plaza Photos. The deli has good food. Great coffee, or so my GF tells me. Personally I dislike coffee and I'm from Washington.

I know at one time Djatc had the same thought about Plaza solely from the roomers he heard. He was giving me his rooms and didn't want them. I told him how nice and covenant they were. Then he got a a look at them. Now he is a greedy bastard with Plaza rooms and wont give them up. He tries to pawn off The D and 4 queens on me. I Should have kept my mouth shut and acted as if I was begrudgingly taking them.

Perhaps he just likes to be close to Louie.

I didn't try that, but I found that connection, free, working rather well in some areas of the Hash House restaurant. pretty much near the entrance. I forget whether it worked at the food court or not.

I still think I should provide my own WiFi next trip, unless I wind up staying somehere with a mandatory resort fee which includes it.
