The ACE bus rapid transit will begin on March 28th. The same ticket is good on the ACE, the DEUCE, and any other bus in the city.

The DEUCE will only go between strip hotels (now including Palace Station).

The route #108 bus from the airport will now serve Circus Circus and Riviera as well as Sahara and Stratosphere. It will also get to Fremont street by a much more direct route saving nearly 20 minutes. It has become a reasonable low cost way to get to these low cost resorts. Since you will probably be purchasing a 3 day ACE/DEUCE pass anyway for $15 per person, the #108 bus comes at no additional cost.

... ACE/DEUCE pass ...

Hey, I just got the joke. That's cute. Will the next bus line be the THREE-WAY YO?

I think that they are not going to push the craps names very far. The current plan is to call them ACE-GOLD, ACE-Silver, etc. A few years ago they were called MAX, so they keep changing the name.

The plan is to have 5 or 6 bus rapid transit lines. One already exists to Nellis Air Force Base. One will extend to Boulder Highway (pictured above), another will extend to someplace near the casinos in Summerlin. Another will connect to South Point and the M-resort.

For some reason they are building a new northern transit center (near the ARTS center on Bonneville and Main St. where it will be near the new City Hall and the County government building. But they are not moving the Greyhound terminal. If they collocate the Greyhound terminal you could get to the three nearby metropolitan areas as well (Salt Lake City, Phoenix, and Los Angles.

One of the possibilities is to also collocate the high speed rail terminal. However, I think that a HSR terminal will probably end up in the RIO CASINO parking lot where it is a closer taxi ride to the strip. IF THE HSR IS EVER BUILT.

I know you are keen about the Greyhound station being colocated with transit, but I don't think that's such a good idea, especially in the West where Greyhound is lowest common denominator transportation, to be avoided as much as possible. In the East Coast, where there are more people without cars and where there is vigorous competition for intercity travel, it's different. Greyhound has to put out a quality product. In the West, the ethnic buses get choice ridership for the appropriate ethnic group, and English speaking people (of any race) generally drive or fly. Greyhound terminals are located in the absolute worst parts of town - too many visits to the Los Angeles and Oakland dog stations in my day. Similarly, that's one reason why the Plaza is so decrepit - certainly the Dog station doesn't help, unlike the once and former Amtrak station which I visited a while back. Amtrak attracts more ordinary people, while the Federal government transports "low-risk" felons on Greyhound. 'Nuff said.
