At Turning Stone casino in New York, machine players can buy with players club points or receive in mailers coupons for free play cards. The value on the card may be used to play a game, but the card may only be cashed in for credits earned above its face value. For example, if I use a $100 free play card and run the credits on the machine up to $200, I can cash in the card, but I only will receive $100. I normally use the card to play full coin on a $1 9/5 jacks or better machine (the best pay table at that level). Is there an optimum credit balance one should aspire to reach (or exhaust the credits on the card before doing so) on that type of game that will maximize the value of the card? Thanks.

Turning Stone is my local casino as well, I was there last night. If you play tables, you can use your Player's Choice coupon for a match play. If you don't play tables, it is best to play max coin on the highest denomination available. If you are playing small bets on your freeplay, the HA will eat away at your bankroll on the card until it is gone. By placing big bets, you have the potential for the big hit, such that having to give 100 back isn't as big of a deal. What is the HA on these 9/5 jacks machines and where are they located in the casino?

A ton of helpful stuff like that is on the Wiz's other website,
WIZARDOFODDS.com. From memory, the HA for 9/5
Jacks or Better is about 1.5 %.
There's emptiness behind their eyes There's dust in all their hearts They just want to steal us all and take us all apart

Thanks for your reply, winmonkeysit3. The HA question has been answered; the location of the machines is just opposite the Diamond Club booths, on the other side of the wall separating them from the casino. If you have the BR, there are three 9/6 machines for $5 just opposite the high limit area (and there are three $25 machines opposite the $5 machines).
