I LOVED Bodog for the two years late 2008 - late 2010. They were nothing less than a courteous, understanding company, and while I'm sure they made more money from me than I did from them, the payouts I got back from them were prompt, even when they were significantly large.
I'm just not sure why the Wizard still supports them --
As of right now, there are no deposit options for me that do not cost a percentage fee. It used to be that the credit card deposit option had no fee (I didn't count my bank's international fee against Bodog), but now Bodog charges a 4.9% fee plus whatever your bank charges. It also used to be that there was a Direct Bank Transfer option, where you could use what amounted to an electronic check with no fees up to your daily deposit limit. That has also disappeared.
I have never had any financial problems with Bodog - just wondering why the Wizard would continue to support this site when they charge such extravagant fees for all deposits while there are other US-friendly sites (granted, their bonuses are outright theft, but you can always decline them) that don't?
Again - I would love to come back to Bodog, so maybe I'm missing something - any information is appreciated.
Thanks!

How many US-friendly sites are there that a reasonable person would actually trust with their money? I do this shit for a living and I can count very, very few. Bodog has always been a stand up company where your money is safe.
I believe I may still wire funds to them without them incurring a fee, but obviously the bank fees on that are higher than the 4.9% credit card fee they now charge.
My biggest question is why they removed the Bank Transfer option - it was similar to an echeck, and I used it many times without issue for nearly a year. One memorable weekend I deposited $1500 over the course of 48 hours. I'm not saying I'm a wise player there, but it used to be a fun way to relieve stress (albeit of questionable financial worth). But it seems clear I was a consistent benefit to their Accounts Receivable, if not a "high roller."
Again, thanks - I am actually more curious RE: the questions I've asked about the version of Casino Hold 'em I posted immediately before this question, though it seems another poster has corrected me RE: the name of the game ("Bonus Texas Hold 'Em?").
Thanks again for an informative resource that's clearly taken a great deal of your time to provide. Much appreciated.

If you are in the USA most if not all banks will not process online gambling deposits due to regulations.
Sorry
-BB
Note that online gambling is not illegal in the US.

Correct but it is illegal for Banks and Credit Card companies to process payments to them. A rather vague law but as many poker sites were reminded last month it still has claws.

Bodog Don't Have ("Bonus Texas Hold 'Em?") or Texas Hold'Em Bonus.
Bodog Have: Casino Holdem® and Caribbean Hold'em, Both are my games.
What questions did you asked about the version of Casino Hold 'em®?
Is there any more questions regarding Casino Hold'em®?
By the way, Casino Hold'em® was the first Texas Hold'em against the dealer.
Invented in 2000.

Hi BB,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you here. I have spoken with a senior CS manager and can you please PM me (or if you feel more comfortable, send to the Wizard) your account number so they can get in touch with you about your concerns? Also, just for the sake of updating this thread, the bodog payments team works very hard to secure options that are both safe and of low cost to their players. Obviously payments have become more complicated in recent times and as a result the payment processors themselves are charging higher fees because of the risks they are incurring by doing these transactions. To help cushion the fees for players, Bodog does offer deposit bonuses and other promotions with low rollover requirements.
Also if anyone ever has any questions or concerns about available payment methods just give CS a call, they will be happy to help. :)
Many thanks,
Becky
Quote: AZDuffmanI got an email from Bodog today stating their domain was now an .eu adress. My guess this is to protect the brand as the Obama Administration is getting aggressive about siezing domains. I didn't notice the change until the email, but how does it look for US Players.
Nice to see Bodog being the first proactive site in changing their domain name. Kinda surprises me that so many other sites have their domains .com and risk losing them to the gestapo DOJ at any time.
