That said, generally speaking, higher denomination machines have a lower house edge.
Quote: TripleRedhotI mainly only play the old 3 reel slots. Everything is just doubled if you bet 2 credits instead of one. Usually put 600 in a machine just didnt know if i was messing up by playing 2 credits 5$ instead of playing on a 10$ machind 1 credit thanks for the reply
You'd probably be better off with the $10 machine.
There's no easy way to know for sure, and there's certainly exceptions, but like I mentioned the general rule of thumb is the higher denomination the higher the return.

I would assume a $5 slot and a $10 slot probably have the same payback %. Unless you know better, playing the max coins is usually better or the same.
I would say as a rule of thumb playig 2 coins (assuming that's the max bet) would be better than short coining a higher denomination.

Isn't it true that the exact same two machines, with the exact same denominations and pay tables will most likely have different payback percentages? Slots aren't like VP in this sense where they same pay table equals the same payback.

I don't think so, unless one is higher denom. They very well may be set to the same percentage. Sure they could be different, but I think unlikely.
Same thing with VP -- you have a bank of 4 machines, most of the time they are all the same. Sometimes/rarely, they'll all have 9/5 JOB and one will have 9/6 JOB.

If you look at gaming revenue reports, slot hold % pretty much always goes down the higher the denomination.
Some slots have different pay-tables or bonuses based on coins played, but he said this one doesn't.
They could very well be identicle, especially if they are in the same bank. But if there is a difference, I'd wager the the higher denomination has a better return.
I would like to see some evidence that a $10 machine has a better payback than a $5 machine. I would be willing to bet they are the same payback.Quote: gamerfreakIf you look at gaming revenue reports, slot hold % pretty much always goes down the higher the denomination.

It would help to know what machine he is playing. He said the pays double from 1 coin to 2 coins. I'm wondering if he is including the top jackpot as well.
