Ultimate Holdem Slot or Not

For the casino that use auto shufflers that recognize the face of the cards and touch screens for Ultimate Texas Holdem does it play "as a slot machine" In other words is it NOT random? Is payout a percentage as is in a slot? If the machine can recognize the cards, why wouldn't it be able to control who gets what and how often it pays out?
