There is no "Mid-West" category on here for other casinos. Or just "U.S. Other" or something like that.
Anyway, just went and played here last night. Technically in Des Plaines which is in the Chicagoland area. They close from 6:35am to 9am which I thought was weird. I didn't want to leave! (Yes, I was up that late.) surprised to see slot machines there, but I stuck to table games.
Has anyone else played here? If so what was your experience?

I made a very short visit once, went in and they were having a promotion, they were giving away blenders which made it beyond busy. I played enough to collect a $1 chip for my collection (yup I'm one of those) and then left because it was too crowded. My overall impression is that it is one of the nicest casinos in Chicagoland (I've been to them all). I noticed that all the table limits were higher than smaller casinos. Craps started at $10 but most were at $25 and BJ started at $15 if I remember correctly. Definitely not a low roller casino which isn't a bad thing. I didn't get to try any of the restaurants but I've heard they have some good ones.

When Atlantic City first got casinos, they closed every night. Not sure if it was at 4:00am or 6:00am, then reopened, again not sure if it was 9:00am or 10:00.Quote: HotBlondeThey close from 6:35am to 9am which I thought was weird. I didn't want to leave! (Yes, I was up that late.)
Something in the back of my mind says 6:00-10:00.
But to close at 6:35? That's just weird!

Illinois casinos must close a minimum of 2 hours per day apparently. My home state of Missouri must have casinos close at least one hour per week.
I still keep meaning to check out rivers.

I was there many years ago to get my poker chip like the grinder. I walked in got a player's Card and chip and left. Would have stayed to play but that was on a day where we visited 10 or 11 casinos in 1 day and it was our last one. I was very tired.

I got stuck in Chicago on Christmas Day a couple years ago, and stayed at the Sheraton Rosemount. No food anywhere to be found but at the casino, so gladly went to try my luck as well.
The only quarter VP they had was all triple play or more.... if you wanted to play a single line, it had to be dollars. Paytables were not fantastic.

I think it is an okay casino. Very similar to the Rivers casino in Pittsburgh (they have the same owner), which is also just "okay."

Rivers Casino though clean and well-maintained have TIGHT slot machines. They make the most revenue out of all Illinois casinos according to the Illinois Gaming Commission yearly reports. I wouldn't pay here unless I was bored and didn't mind losing all my money.

Does rivers also have the highest gross margin or oi? I mean, of course they have high revenue. They're right by the airport and on major bus and rail lines. They have high limits and they're always busy. That doesn't mean the games are tight...

When it comes to slots, Rivers in Pittsburgh has a bad reputation(1-2 hours away), but pretty much every place has a bad reputation and I think they all deserve it. There really aren't many places nationwide that have good reputations. Borgata used to, pretty sure that's changed from good to almost good enough.
