It has the unusual rule of not allowing you to resplit anything. I suspect this is due to a lack of room on a smartphone screen for the extra cards. I don't see this rule variation addressed on the house-edge calculator or the basic strategy tables on wizardofodds.com. Any idea how much this rule change affects the house edge. I don't think it would change basic strategy but I'm not sure.
MyVegas offers single deck and six-deck (with progressive side bets) and six-deck Free Bet BJ. The rules are hit on a soft seventeen, one double after split, no resplits.
Thanks
If it's the latter, resplit to 2 should cover it.
However, it does allow splitting; in fact, even if your initial bets reach the per-hand XP limit, splitting will earn XPs.
Question: does the app pay 1 XP per 2 chips bet, the way the Facebook version does? Does it matter if you play the single-deck or 6-deck version?
Quote: DieterIs that "I can't split", (1 hand as dealt only), or "I can split to 2 hands, but can't resplit to 3 hands"?

Can't resplit to 3 hands. If you get AA, and you split them into 2 hands, you get 1 card draw on both. If one hand ends up AA again you can't resplit unfortunately.
How about 8's?
Quote: DieterAces often have special splitting rules. (1 card only on Aces, no resplits - I think that's been common for at least 40 years now.)

I have nothing to do with Facebook so I deferred to my wife. No re-splits on anything. You can hit any split hand except aces, but two hands it is. Surrender is not offered and when the player breaks, the dealer's hole card is not revealed. Don't tell me she's counting. :-)
She also plays the Caesars app. No re-splits. Surrender is offered but DAS is not. Leave it to them. Not to worry, when you receive an ace on a split 10 you are paid 3 to 2. Go ahead and split them aggressively. Hope I didn't burn an AP play. Oh wait, it's only a game and you don't even get anything for it.

Don't get anything for it maybe on Caesars app. I have a sum total of over $500 worth of comps/shows/etc. on MyVegas...and last time my wife and I were in Vegas we redeemed about $400 worth of comps. If you're bored and have nothing to do it's definitely better than surfing the net. Hell, you can still surf the net while it goes in the background anyway.

Yes, I meant Ceasars. She has quite a bit on MyVegas. She let's everyone's kids play it when they visit.

Best idea I've read all week. :)
In fact it's probably a situation with potential for gold farming. Or sweatshopping your younger relatives. I'm not planning a trip anytime soon, but I plan on playing as much blackjack as possible before they tighten up the game.
Quote: dudestupidI think the smartphone blackjack app is a game changer. Unlike the slots where you gradually grind down your bankroll, the chips slowly rack up on blackjack. The small house edge is easily overcome by the daily bonus spin, 4-hour bonuses, bonuses for watching commercials and level-up bonuses. I have been racking up gold chips at a FAR faster rate than slots -- about 10,000-12,000 an hour (betting 3 hands at 500k a hand). Considering the comp value is about $1 per thousand chips, it's about minimum wage.

How on earth can you even get enough chips to bet 500k a hand in the first place? I use the simple strategy printed out from WoO and I still get ground down to nothing sometimes. Granted, it's a rare event, but it still happens and brings LP generation to a halt.
Also, you have to constantly play it whereas slots can go in the background while you do other stuff.
Plus there's more than a small house edge with the MyVegas BJ...I honestly don't think it's fair or uses a real RNG. Seems like the dealer pulls 20 or 21 way too often to be believable. If you look at the reviews many people have the same complaint.

I just played a few dozen rounds.
It has the same feel of a video blackjack machine that shuffles after every round.

How is the smartphone app different from the blackjack on the Facebook app?
Also, are you sure about that 500K/hand? My limit is 50K/hand, with a resulting cap of 75K XP/deal. Isn't there also a daily limit (2000?) on how many gold chips you can earn outside of level-ups?
Can you transfer the comps? (eg. sell them)
Quote: sc15Can you transfer the comps? (eg. sell them)
You can't redeem the comps without showing your ID to somebody - e.g. at the box office if it's tickets, or at the MLife kiosk if it's a buffet pass. Once you get your ticket, you should be able to give/sell it to someone else, but that's about as close as you're going to get to "transferring a comp".
Also remember that there is a limit as to how many comps you can use in a given period (3 in 30 days, I think), and most comps also don't let you purchase more than one of them (if you want 2 tickets to LOVE, for example, you can't just get the "1 ticket to LOVE" comp twice; you have to get either the "2 tickets to LOVE" comp or the "2 tickets for the price of 1" comp).

You should have been playing the game from the start over 2 years ago...
The facebook game used to be ridiculously generous. Now...not so much. The moblie apps are even a bigger joke.
I've probably redeemed about $1000 retail worth of stuff so far. Not paid a dime.
Edit: You're saying blackjack on the app has been adjusted to minimum wage now? When the blackjack app first came out, it was terrible for LP collection. What you are describing is what the way blackjack on facebook used to be...
By the way, the betting system I used (which I would never use with real money) is to always bet 1/10 of my bankroll on each hand (so 3/10 per deal). This causes wins to balloon up while still having enough money to double and split.
So the gold chips I was earned was probably just luck.
I think the smartphone app plays a lot faster than the Facebook app and has more bonuses for level-ups and MyStrip.
