Hi.
First of all I want to thank the Wizard for the great informative site!

There are some questions about rules of the Craps game at
https://wizardofodds.com/play/craps/

I don't know is it wrong or it is the way craps is normally played...
Please, help me to understand all nuances of the game.

Is it right, that it is possible to make a Come bet at come-out roll (and also at point roll) by putting the bet direct to the left down corner of the number?

Also I want to ask about Big 6 and Big 8 bets. Is it right, that this bets are allowed at come-out roll?

Instead of us trying to follow what you are trying to point out on the table as a place to bet, I'm thinking "mouse-over" will tell you what kind of bet you are making: look in the top yellow border when you move your mouse over the bet area. You should not be able to make a Come bet during a come-out roll. Note also banned bets shade to red.

I agree with the other poster that it seems you need to read up more, right there at the site for example. It would tell you not to make 'big 6/8' bets at all ever. However, it does seem you can make that bet in a Come-out roll at the Wizard's table. I have no idea if you can at a real table as I avoid the bet totally, but now I also am interested to know if it is an error or a fact that it is allowable at a casino.

I am almost certain the Big 6/8 bet can be made at any time, including the come out roll. Since this may be the worst bet you can make (worst in that you can make the exact same bet as a Place bet instead, and get paid more), it only makes since that it would be allowed at any time. I also believe the placement on the corner of the felt is not an accident either. Easy place for someone watching the game to step in and put money into play, and that big square is just waiting for a chip to get placed there.

Sorry for my obstinacy... But I will try to ask the same question (first question) in other words.

It is the very beginning of the game, there were no any bets before, come out roll. I place mouse at left down corner of rectangle with number (for example) "5". Rectangle under the mouse pointer became blue. "Mouse-over" tells me, that it is "COME 5". And I can make the bet.
I would like to know: is it right? Just "Yes" or "No" :)

Also I have read next about come bet: It is like the pass line bet, but may be made at any time
If I have understood right, Come bet is a bet that the Shooter will roll a 7 or 11 on the next roll, or will establish a Point (for Come bet) and will roll same point before he rolls a 7. So, why it is allowed place the come bet direct on some number (I am trying to say: without phase of establishing a point)?

Thanks

Don't garner all of your knowledge of craps rules based upon the Wiz' craps game simulator.

There are several inconsistancies in that game. Oh, sure, it's pretty good, but there are flaws.

For example, there's no way to make a place or hardway bet on a come out roll, or to have existing place or hardways turned on for the come out. Kinda odd since in Vegas, hardways stay on for a come out.

You can also have them turned off or removed any time you like.

But to answer your question: You can make a place bet and Big 6/8 on a come out and have it turned on.

Also, you CAN add to, or even ESTABLISH, a pass-line or come bet at any time. Similarly, you can reduce or remove a don't pass or don't come at any time.

You just can't reduce a pass-line or come bet, or add to a don't bet.

The reason is simple: After the initial roll, a 7 is favored to hit before the number, so the casino would love it if you wanted to increase your pass or come, or to reduce a don't bet.

Therefore, establishing a come bet with odds, without the initial dice roll, is fine. FYI: This bet actually has another name: A Put bet. And to go one step further, a place bet is actually a Put bet of 1 unit with 4 or 5 units of odds. A major difference is the casino uses the entire place bet when considering the table minimum.

Does that help?

The short answer: Yes.

You CAN make that bet in a real casino.

For the long answer, read my post above (I was typing / composing at the same time as you).

This is called a "put" bet, and you can make these at any time, but it is a flat bet, so it is not a good bet unless you add enough odds. You can read more about put bets at https://wizardofodds.com/craps.

Put bets are only good when the odds available are >5x. But with Vig paid only on win is better than place except on 6 and 8.

So, for example, at Casino Royale. You are better off "Putting" $3 with 10x odds (which will pay you $39 (30 x 6/5 + 3) than placing $36 (36 x 7/6 = $42). You lose $3 less if it doesn't come.
