Hi everyone,

I'm going down to Vegas soon with some buddies (we all just hit legal age) and I was wondering if any of you guys knew the answers to these questions:

1. We are coming internationally (from Canada) and one of us wants to bring quite a large bankroll down to gamble with. However, I'm feeling uneasy about the idea of bringing that much cash on us. Do the casinos take bank drafts? Also, if he gets lucky and wins big, do the casinos write him a check or give him a bank draft to take back home?

2. Casinos up here have a rule regarding table games where players playing multiple hands are required to bet more than the table minimum on EACH hand. Example: at a $10 table, you can bet $10 on one hand, but if you want to play 2 hands you must bet $20 on EACH hand. It increases to $30 on EACH if you want to play 3 hands, and 4 or more hands you must play the table maximum for ALL hands. Is this also true in Vegas casinos? I really wanted to go down there and play table minimum on 7 hands just for the kicks

Thanks for your responses!

I have never taken my bankroll as anything but cash, so I don't have direct experience with this. However, I have heard that if you want to take a bank draft/cashier's check/etc. to a casino, it's best to get in touch with them beforehand and fax a copy to the cage, so they can begin the authorization before you get there. Hopefully others can chime in on this. You definitely don't want to bring more than $10,000 over the border or you will have to declare it. It's not a crime in and of itself, but I'd hate to have to go through the declarations process.

Most all casinos have similar rules, although the exact amounts differ. At one $5 table I played at regularly, it was $5 one hand, $10 two hands, $25 three hands, and table max if you wanted to play the whole table. That may not be typical, but nowhere is going to let you play every hand at table minimum. Why would they? You're taking a spot away from someone who might want to bet more.

When it doubt, just ask the dealer what the house rules are on multiple hands.
