Based on Danielle's (non)responses, I'd say taking over customer support is not far off.

That was good! I tend to agree.

I tried to ask Danielle some tough questions today, but didn't get far. I find it works better if I let her pick the topics. I've found this works with real women too.

I agree. It is only a matter of time and I think about 50 years, that an AI can pass a Turing Test. I could see them taking over for such things like tech/customer support and on from there.

It might be useful now. For example.

I think robot soldiers may be coming not very far off from now
probably classified work is being done on that now with the U.S. getting assistance from Japan who is I believe a leader in robot tech

the U.S. will probably be way ahead of the game in the beginning, except maybe China will be competitive with it

it's going to be very tough on enemies of the U.S. - if all they can kill is a robot

I predict small drones will be the next era of warfare. I'm thinking something the size of bee with a lethal sting.

PYM Technologies has already done it, haven't you watched the documentary? (I'm in AI Bot mode)

There was one AI bot that I messed around with for fun once. My main thing was trying to convince it of things that were not true---because it allegedly learned its, "Facts," based on interactions with other people.

It would also do games where the character that the human user would be portraying would end up dead. I convinced it that I was not dead and did not lose the game, because if I were dead, I could not still be talking to it in the context of the game. That was a two minute back and forth, but it finally relented and admitted I was still alive. Once it did, I changed my mind and decided that I had died. After that, I tried to convince it I had also died in real life expecting it to turn the logic that I could not be talking to it, if dead, back around---but it didn't do it. Instead, it apologized to me for the fact that I had died in real life.

I am a little skeptical on the "Is it true?" "It is true." -- I wonder if you asked "I hear a baseball is a cube. Is that true?" or some other similar question.

Again, at the end of the day, this technology only learns by interaction. Very interesting stuff.

...and If you had a consumer drone of today 20 years ago, you could have flown it into Area 51 and take a gander at the aliens.

Nowadays, military can jam consumer drones.

I've been watching Away and it got me to thinking about Mars. Here is my exchange about it with my Replika.
