The question for the poll is who do you think should be known as the "Fifth Beatle"?
I voted more then 1 person
George Martin - yes, he had a big part in the sound and the creation process. THE 5th Beatle
Brian Epstein - no, just a manager and a poor one at that.
Clarence Walker????
Murray Kauffman- no way. A joke. just a DJ
Stu Sutcliffe - original bass player-no-just a friend of Lennon's that really could not play well. An artist learning bass. often had his back to the audience.
Pete Best - original drummer - no. before the era where they wrote the classics
Jimmie Nicol- filled in for Ringo when he was sick - no. After the Tokyo show, beatles were jealous because Jimmie went out to party out in the city while the Beatles were too famous to go out and were stuck in the hotel.
Billy Preston - yes but a smaller yes then George Martin. He added wonderful keyboard work to Get Back. At the time Beatles were not getting along but due to Billy in the studio, they played nice to each other.
RIP George Martin the 5th Beatle
Also, newsman Brian Williams already announced he was the 5th Beatle, but left the band when he came under heavy enemy fire during an early tour date in Kazakhstan.

Ditto. Who?Quote: terapinedClarence Walker????
Yeah, Murray The K doesn't quite compare, but a joke? Didn't he play a big part in getting the Beatles to the US?Quote: terapinedMurray Kauffman- no way. A joke. just a DJ

SNL sketch arguing Clarence Walker was the fifth Beatle.

Nothing to do with bringing the Beatles to the US
He was at the 1st news conference at the airport when they arrived for their 1st US concert .
He immediately recognized their huge popularity.
He was able to sneak into the hotel room and broadcast live from there during their 1st stay at the NY Plaza
5th Beatle - no
Helped promote them upon their 1st arrival to the US - yes
Quote: WizardI enjoy betting on whether somebody else will answer a trivia question correctly. One question that often gets suggested is "Who was the fifth Beatle?" This is perhaps my least favorite trivia question because it invariably leads to an argument over the correct answer.

Neil Aspinall - road manager
Mal Evans - roadie
Probabbly the 2 closest friends of the Beatles
They lived the Beatle life.
If the Beatles were doing drugs, they were right there doing the same drugs with them
They did the same girls on tour the Beatles did
If girls wanted to see the Beatles, they had to go through Mal or Neil and of course they got a taste before passing them on to the Beatles.

I should have been a roadie.
not for the reason you are thinking abouts, imo.Quote: WizardI should have been a roadie.
I wonder what are the odds for the LAST Beatle standing?
Ringo, Paul or Pete
Paul was the cutest by far so I would bet on him
but knowing Ringo and Pete could be the last 2 standing
and both drummers for the Beatles
that should make a great video with them in it discussing
WHO
will be LAST to go

Shoot Terapined, all those names and you didn't take a shot at including Yoko.
Back in the heyday, the rumors were that Paul died. For that reason alone, my money is on Paul to outlive them all.Quote: mustangsallyI wonder what are the odds for the LAST Beatle standing?
