Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spellPink Floyd "Us and Them"
Very, very close, but no.Flip that 45 over to the B-side.

I thought to be a smartass and tell you how long ago "Recent" was to make you feel old.
Then I realized how long ago "Recent" was.

You are correct! By "recent", I simply meant in the 2000's: in the present case, 2005.
In this music video, the "lampshade" man is none other than the late, great Little Jimmy Dickens of "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose" fame.
Now in the "Novelty Song" category, from the mid-80's:
Well, what happened next is hard to tell,
Some thought it was heaven others thought it was hell,
But the fact that something was among us was plain to see.

I absolutely know who wrote this, but I don't know the name of it.
Here's a link to a funny cartoon related to this thread that I just saw:

I couldn't figure out how to link directly to the image.

And now, in the category "New Wave", name that song...
Traveling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast

I don't think you can, unless you have an account there; the only way to get direct access to the images is by creating a "favorites" page, which still lets you right-click on the image and then select "View Image" to bring just the comic up on its own page.
Thanks for posting the cartoon!
Personally, I would have used "small physique" instead of "tiny physique", since the line in the original song is "big disgrace": one syllable, followed by two syllables.
At any rate, when I read it I immediately thought of this thread.
