Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge.

I blame my alcoholism.

For the curious, I was playing with a coin flip (or a virtual simulation) just to experiment.

AAE had told me in our first matchup he was going with the coin flip method, and when we met again, we chatted but he never confirmed a "share" so I thought the flip must have went sour on me and he wasn't going to respond.

Believe me I know the issues of a combination of the weekend, drunkeness, and golden balls vs 2.0.

Just Share and Share alike. Easy.

Well I am facing MakingBook who knocked me out of the first round of 1.0 when he said he was stealing in every round. Thusfar in 2.0 he has stolen twice, making me nervous. I proposed a share and am awaiting a response.

Oh, I agree. However, can you trust the other guy? I might remind everybody there were three steals in round 4 with just a 10% share. This round has a 20% share. Assuming lots of stealing in round 10, round 7 may be the best chance to cash in on a successful steal.

Great observation, Wiz!

I think that a major part of any winning strategy for this game involves a successful steal in either Round Seven or Round Ten, or perhaps even two successful shares. I would say that there is still time for arrangements to be made for Round Ten, but the best chance of winning is obviously going to come from doing a successful combination of Share/Share, Steal/Steal or Share/Steal in these two crucial rounds.

Interestingly, Round Ten should be split so few ways that it might be an individual who takes any part of that money to win regardless of what happens in Round Seven.

If it were me, I would PM everyone except my Round 7 opponent offering to Share in the final round regardless of what else happens, and then try to convince my opponent to Share in Round 7 (And steal from them) and then Steal in Round 10 from someone thinking I would honor the agreement made prior to Round 7.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm actually a very honest person...usually...but lying is the most fundamental aspect of winning this game. If you ain't lyin', you ain't tryin'.

Alternatively, some might decide to Share in this Round hoping that they can either compel someone to mutually share in Round 10...and do so...or to try to compel someone to Share in Round 10 and then Steal from them. That's why the high Share rate in Round 6 isn't much of a surprise.

I'm going to say that we will see much Stealing in this Round, but half (or more) will Share.

The hardest part about a punishment steal in this game is that a punishment steal looks exactly like a self-serving steal. I could steal this round, and then claim it was because my opponent stole the round before. In a "bonus" round, this sort of stealing is much harder to carry off for the next rounds. Whereas in a 5% round... yeah i can send a message out and it doesn't look quite as bad.

I suppose there is no rule that they can't, so I'll pay if asked. However, since the eliminated players didn't keep up their end of the bargain to be actively engaged, I don't think they deserve anything.

JohnnyQ vs. FrGamble
rainman vs. Din

avargov was randomly chosen to get a free bye, due to the odd number of remaining players. No response is expected from him and he is guaranteed a full share.

Because this is the big round with a 7x (35%) share I'll allow an extra day for deliberation. Plays are due 8:00 AM on Wednesday.

I have shared the entire way through. I have already told my opponent for the final round that my strategy was going to be share in the early rounds, then steal in the final if it was someone who stole from me once.

I have already submitted my share selection.

I'm a git. I default to a steal as my response early to avoid missing a turn out like I did before, then change to share once I hear from my opponent. Last night I heard from my opponent, but failed to do the update. By mistake. (shakes head)... I feel bad, there was no reason to steal last round once avargov got in touch, but I went and done it.

vendman1 vs. paisiello: all shares vs. 2 steals in 1x rounds. I'd be interested to know the reasons for paisiollo steals, but perhaps out lack of communication from the opponent or revenge. Vendman is in a strong second place in the football contest, I should add.

dwheatley vs. SOOPOO: dw has a steal in the 4x round against all shares from SOOPOO. I'm sure dw will promise to share, but can SOOPOO trust him? Perhaps SOOPOO was planning a round 10 steal all along anyway.

JohnnyQ vs. FrGamble: Q has a steal in the 2x round, and FrG one in round 9x, against Maverick, who didn't submit a play. A priest stealing; you don't see that every day. However, against somebody who probably wasn't engaged, I don't blame him. I expect a share from FrG. The question is how many years in purgatory will Johnny get for stealing from a priest?

rainman vs. Din: Rainman is 100% shares against Din with a steal in both big rounds. Similar situation to the dwheatley vs. SOOPOO match.

thecesspit vs. gameterror: Both players have one steal. thecesspit had a surprise steal in the last round. What was that about? I think they both have a little explaining to do for their rogue steals. With good communication, I could picture two shares.

makingbook vs. winmonkeyspit3: MB had two early steals but then seemed to start earning karma points. Monkey has all shares. MB made a comment in GB-I about maximizing expected value, so I think Monkey may have a hard time trusting him. Again, a similar situation to dwheatley vs. SOOPOO.

miplet vs. Croupier: The only steal between them is one from miplet in round 1. That may have been out of revenge from GB-I. I know these two personally, and could picture two shares. Then again, maybe this is a way to cash in on a good reputation with a succesful steal.

Now the fun really begins. How many of those that have shared the entire game will go for the round 10 steal?

If I read the table correctly, there are 4 members who
have shared each round so far.

But, this round has a pay-out 7 times higher than a
typical round. So could be interesting.....

I think a lot comes down to who you get paired with
in the final round. I am happy with getting partnered
up with FrGamble.

I don't know what happened to my share pm. I sent it right after I responded to frgambles pm to me yesterday.

I'm no serial stealer, only stole when there was no response or when I knew I was being lied to.

This last round would have definitely depended on who I was matched up with, but there is a good chance I was stealing since I was down in the $$ column, and I was more interested in winning than actually getting paid.

If there is a gb3 there should be a no weekend rule, that was tough for me and many others in the game.

Good luck to all the thieves for round 10!!!!!

Oops. I'm sorry I called you a serial stealer. You had no steals vs someone who shared. Heading to bed now, but I wonder who else had no successful steals?

If there is a gb3.....

Speaking of GB3, what other activities can
we think of to keep the children occupied ?

I thought the NFL football "Last Man Standing"
contest that the Wiz entered sounded fun.
So I nominate that for next year. 9 Months
should give everyone plenty of time to sort
out their strategy.

For a little twist, I would propose adding
some # of Random entries as contestants,
just to see how far they would get.

Anything else ?

I guess we already have the Price of Gold
contest and the Super Bowl contest currently
running.

Good suggestion. I think there will be a GB-III, but I'll take a break from it for a while. Maybe around March.

I looked and didn't see it either.

I was using my phone to send the PM, and I did send the FrGamble PM.

I am guessing my phone timed out before it sent the message to you, and my drunk ass forgot about it when I looked down at my now "off" phone and wondered why it was in my hand in the first place, looked up and saw some decent ass, sauntered over to put sweet moves on her, and the rest, they say, is history.

Is there a Post of the Year Award?

www.bj21.com has a post of the month award in the Green Chip section. Maybe we should do something like that. I'm spread too thin to be host such an award, but welcome anybody else to take the lead.

OK, continuing with my insightful analysis:

- There were 12 steals total in the first 6 rounds.

- The 10th round is worth the same amount as
the first 6 rounds put together.

- So, just extrapolate and figure on 12 steals in
round #10.

Since FrG probably wouldn't steal again, and I
wouldn't steal fearing hard time in purgatory
(as previously noted by the Wiz), therefore
everyone else will steal in round #10.

dwheatley vs. SOOPOO
JohnnyQ vs. FrGamble
rainman vs. Din
thecesspit vs. gameterror

avargov was randomly chosen to get a free bye, due to the odd number of remaining players. No response is expected from him and he is guaranteed a full share.

Because this is the big round with a 7x (35%) share I'll allow an extra day for deliberation. Plays are due 8:00 AM on Wednesday.

5 perfect steals. That is a bit surprising to me.
