It's a Miracle on East 9th Street !

It was 7 turnovers, a 3rd string, 37 yr old QB, and my incessant drunken cheering that lead the team of the next decade to a W.

Holmgren goes out with 2 wins against the steelers in 3 years, pretty good considering his comparables, lol.

To quote Artie Johnson, "Velly velly interesting !".

My round 4 match-up has a "balanced" approach,
where Wongbo has used each of the possible
responses once so far in GB2, ie:

Share
No Response
Steal

So if he repeats this sequence, he will share
in Round 4.

Mission - what do you put the odds on that ?

Thank you, Wiz!

I reiterate that I am not at all surprised to see so much sharing in Round 3 given that it is early in the game and it was a 5% round. It would depend on the level of aggressiveness of the GB2 players, but we might see more than two steals in Round 4 given that it is a 10% round. I still do not expect to see many, however, because we still effectively have 60% of the rounds and 75% of the total cash value in front of us after this round, so it still might be a bit early to be deemed untrustworthy by future partners.

It is difficult to tell if the stealing against WongBo from this round has anything to do with revenge, because one must consider that the thief is MakingBook who has stolen 2:3 in this incarnation of the game and 3:4 between the two. In fact, I think it is quite possible that WongBo simply did not want to play, "The Fool," by sharing with MakingBook who was 2:3 overall to steal at that time. The fact that WongBo was involved in a mutual share in Round 1 of GB2 further compounds the issue as does the fact that he failed to respond in Round 2, so that steal may not have been made with malicious intent.

I am surprised that WongBo decided to play in this incarnation of the game, because barring a mutual cooperative, it is very difficult to imagine anyone sharing with him in the final Round of this incarnation as he has shown the capacity to steal. In the meantime, provided WongBo is not paired up against any of the people from whom he stole in GB1 he should be fine as the majority of the players are still working to earn trust in the smaller Rounds, even if that means sharing with, "The Thief."

Will WongBo go all the way and finish #1 (or tied for #1) in cash? No chance in Hell. My ultimate analysis of this game is that with the right combination of honesty, cunning, trickery and deception it can be won...but only once.

Which is why I am the Official Announcer!!!

This round essentially played out as I expected, given that I stated I would not be surprised to see more than two steals. I wouldn't have guessed four, though, I'd have put the O/U at 3.5 and taken the Under.

It's going to be interesting to see the people who stole in this Round attempt to convince others to Share in later higher paying Rounds. If an individual has consistently shared in the 5% Rounds, then perhaps opponents can be convinced that behavior will continue, but if someone will steal to get a higher cut of a 10% Round, can anyone really be convinced that they won't steal for a bigger cut of a higher percentage than that?

There may be pre-arranged cooperatives out there that we do not know about, so perhaps these 10% Steals were made hoping for the luck of the draw in the higher rounds later, but barring that, I can't imagine anyone sharing with the people who stole in this Round. It'd be especially interesting to see what happens if two thieves from this most recent round are paired up in a later higher-paying Round, we will find out if there is indeed honor amongst thieves.

Yes, as a matter of fact I would......

I was paired up "vs" Wongbo, who had stolen
in the previous round.

So of course I PM'd to see what his thoughts
were for the current round.

No reply. Which, still smarting from an
incision in the back from the previous game,
I interpreted as an attempt to rely on my
PROVEN track record of sharing to steal
FROM me. No thank-you on that !

So, I was left no choice but to teach
Wongbo a lesson and steal, in effect
cancelling out the steal I thought he
was about to submit.

And now I'm paired up with WONGBO
again, seriously ? ? ?

Well that's fine. I am going to submit
my SHARE for Round 5 in a few minutes.

You heard it hear first !

I don't care what Wongbo does.

ps: I did eventually get a reply at
2 in the morning east coast time
on the last day. Didn't have a
chance to read that before heading
off to work.

I chose steal largely on a whim (sorry miplet!). I do have a larger strategy that I will likely post once the game is over (missing round 2 wasn't exactly part of that strategy). My prediction is that those who stole last round will go back to sharing for a while. I also believe that stealing on every bonus % round is a recipe for disaster.

It's not much of a game if everyone shares every round. A steal or two livens things up.

Agreed. I have shared every round thus far and would be willing to if I am paired with someone who has shared in the previous big money rounds. If I am paired with someone who has stolen when the money is more substantial I will find myself in quite the predicament. If I had to guess, I'd say 50% with share and 50% will steal in the 35% round, so I would agree that it will by and large be the luck of the draw.

would like someone like FRGamble as my "partner"

Did the coin flip land on it's side, thus not returning a response?

*golf clap*

No seriously, I PM'd with Maverick yesterday while at work, then forgot to even do the coin flip and turn in my response before I left work and started drinking. Realized my mistake about 30 minutes too late.

Perhaps Aye can check for that. If you didn't delete it, can you forward it to me.

TheCessPit also?

I'm going to withhold commentary until we can be certain this round is resolved.

Nope the Cesspit discussed it and forgot to actually send his PM to the moderator. That one is all on me.

I checked a couple of times after the deadline, especially since WongBo had posted in the thread. I didn't get it.

Sharel aka Share left represents sharing with the left person on the list...aka with himself. It's really just a glorified steal :-)
